I have been longing for an OTR for longtime. Never had a chance due to hectic work schedules. It has been raining in Dubai since last few days and last saturday afternoon after the rains stopped I decided to take the wrangler to the desert.

I knew the soft sand would've got firmer due to rains and it will be easy for offoading. So I decided to check out a nearest OTR location since it was already 4:00 PM and getting dark.

As expected the sand was firm and I decided to explore it even without reducing the air pressure on tyres.

Eveything went well until the last hour.Just before heading home I decided to take up the steepest hill and got stuck badly.





























If you notice the wheels are spinning in many occasions, thats because I did not deflate the tyres and they are still running with 30 Psi pressure.

There were so many passer by 4x4's Nissan Patrols and Land Cruisers and Pajero's came to help But I forgot to take my tow rope :Frustrati and the guys who came to help also didnt had one.

Finally after wating for half hour and digging out sand from under the wheels with bare hands, one good samaritan 4x4 came with tow rope.

Guess who came to pull me out!! I was shocked to see that monster and my modded wrangler with 33" tyres and almost 6.5 feet tall looked puny infront of that beast.

I just googled for International CXT! and look what I found. courtesy wikipedia.

No wonder it pulled out my wrangler in literally 5 seconds and in that process Wrangler got lifted 2 feet above the ground.Sorry couldnt take pics of that since all these was over in less than a minute.

While the International CXT guy was helping me, few kids with their quad bike also came for assistance.

While trying to pull myself out, I reduced the tyre pressure to 20 pounds or less. So I had to visit the nearest gas station to refill the tyres before I head back home.

Its been long time since I've updated this thread.

After getting stuck badly many times during my offroading trips, I started seriously thinking of buying a winch to stop this misery.
Checked out all the off road accessory shops here in Dubai for a 8000lbs+ winch from all major manufacturers like Warn, Ramsey, Britpart, Milemarker, Smittybilt and still I wasnt sure which one to go for due to two reasons.
1) it wasnt fitting my budget or too expensive and 2) it was too heavy ( more than 40 kg) I was basically looking for a lighter winch which will fit my budget.And to my luck last weekend I stumbled upon something which I have been searching for ages.

A whopping 10500 lbs winch which is only 30kg in weight with ultra strong sythentic rope and for a bargain price from a reputed brand! What more do i need!! I just picked it up straight away.
