  1. Battery Looks new.
  2. Tire is also in good condition.
  3. Has alloy Wheels too.
  4. I assume 4X4 is in working condition.
I suggest show it to a MASS and get a list of work to be done along with the cost of parts/labour.

As per my idea and knowledge the price of this in south will be around 1.5 -1.6Lakh.

And Ya, Please ask for the soft top and its accessories.

I guess rust is your biggest enemy - all other things can be taken care of relatively easily - and cheaply.

I guess anything south of 1.75 should translate to a good deal!

rusting doesn't look too bad. Door frame looks clean and footwell looks clean as well. Get it checked from underneath thoroughly.

Looks like it has been standing for a while.

Yup - from the photo's it doesn't look too bad.
What I meant was, make sure that the rust isn't too much...

Or maybe you could just get the bodywork and painting redone after buying it

Hey paras , i bought a 99 king carb for 1.60 4 months ago , get the engine , gearbox and 4x4 if its all working well . yeah make sure you ask the owner for the soft top and its accesories . since this gypsy has alloys and yoko geo tyres i think 1.85lakhs is a fair enough price . is it a single owner .

In mumbai a 2003 mpfi goes for 2.5, so now you can do the math.

I think 1.6 lacs is a good bet. drive and check, if the engine is a killer, go for it, all other things can be taken care of.

Check the body for rust, it seems some work (can be jugaad) has been done and covered up with black paint for underbody and engine bay. Body works are always a pain and time consuming. Price dont go beyond 1.7 lakhs.

Never fall for the blings like tyres and alloys, get the vehicle evaluated at a MASS and then only sign up or negotiate.

Paras, gypsy king looks good from outside. I see oil leaks on engine. start the engine and observe for smoke. If it smokes white, then oil is burning. if not , the gasket needs changing. In any case consult MASS for the condition. Rust seems to be manageable with anti rust coating and a spray of paint. also check the differential dome for oil traces.

A 99 model gypsy should not be more than 1.20 max and i can give a mpfi army disposal for 1.55.
