Rubicon replica - Made in India.

The on going auto show at Novotel HICC, Hyderabad, saw major international auto manufacturers display their beauties from the world over. with the exception of one which was manufactured here in Hyderabad by Prabhu, an automobile engineer, The Owner of New Mars automobile workshop ( a specialty workshop in mechanical's from transforming your car into a mean drag racer or getting the best paint job I have ever seen in India), apart from regular jobs.

It took Prabhu just over two months to transform an MM540 into a Rubicon replica.

I have seen many fabrications in Hyderabad, but rate this by far the best in fit and finish, detailing, proportions and pace of project completion.

The chassis was shortened. Tub, fenders, bumpers, roll bar, dash board etc, fabricated. High grade leather upholstery. Bitumen epoxy on under-body and floor and high quality paint in a relatively short period.

I have been visiting body and paint shops here for months regarding my works and by now they would just have completed just 15-20% of what has been done on this jeep. Best thing is all under one roof.

I know now where to take my CJ-3B (The LYNX) when it's time.

Regards,

Posting some random photos. In blue shirt (2nd pic.) is Prabhu.

Wow, very neatly executed. Finish, as you mentioned is really good.

Was it mostly the cosmetic? Or Is there any change to the heart of the Jeep to?

Awesome job indeed!
The Rubicon is one of my all time favorite off roaders from the Jeep stable, and although I'd like to see 17" wheels and broader tires on this one, it still looks as close as possible to the real thing.
Way to go!

The body work and paint quality is exceptional.
Looks like Hyderabad has the best mechanical craftsmen around.

I have seen this "Indian made Rubicon" at the beginning stages of its construction at Prabhu's workshop and the transformation into a finished beauty is a commendable job by New Mars Team.Kudos to Prabhu and his Automobile Engineering expertise.
Not to mention that some of our very own T-Bhpians like Raveendra,Suren, were involved in its construction.Hats off guys !!

Fantastic job done, the photos itself are drool factor, wish i could have seen it in flesh. Some of you guys are seriously lucky to see it under construction and then the finished product in flesh. Another reason to fall in love with TBHP, wherein many people wont have even know about this project now all the enthusiast will know one more destination to get their dream vehicle.

Hats off to the Modification and three cheers for TBHP.

Only few of the Hyderabad T-BHPians knew about this project and we had to be silent until the final product was revealed.

@Fazal Saab, Thank you for staring this thread! We still need your valuable suggestions in completing this project!

Attached is one pic of the Jeep during WIP!

FYI: The whole jeep is completely hand-made!

P.S: I didn't know, that not attending a expensive continental breakfast can remove me completely out of the equation!
Well, Thanks!

A very good mod-job indeed. But at the risk of being castigated, I think comparing this to the Rubicon is not fair. It has some resemblance to the Rubicon, but is nowhere near even being a replica of the original. The front does not AT ALL look like the Rubicon, the details are lacking.

Having said all this, I feel this is indeed a great mod-job. I just don't think comparison does justice to either the Rubicon or the modified Mahindra.

Looks really great, I wish the Thar team could have taken some dsign clues from this.
Perhaps they will have a good market in customising Thars.

Fantastic job done by prabhu. The detailing is very neat and sharp. It doesn't look like a replica, rather its more of the real thing minus the "Jeep" badges. Brilliantly executed job.
