I'm glad to announce that I have purchased a petrol powered Toyota Landcruiser FJ62 with Toyota 3F engine and fully functional 4WD and A/C.

You were going to buy some FJ to swap parts for the other SWB FJ... is it this. This is TOOO good to be salvaged. Is this your family cruiser going forward?

OHV is the only think I could read from the specs, not sure if DOHC/SOHC.

This vehicle is already registered in India so re-registration shouldn't be an issue. The LHD registration for new imports are actually an issue not for re-registration.

Sure, Just be patient till one more month as I need to do some service of this vehicle before it touches the offroad ground.

This vehicle as done around 1L kms on the odo.
Nope this is JK registered Toyota.
Gives around 7kmpl and still some room left for improvement. I'm thinking of introducing freewheeling hubs to the front so I get little extra on the FE.

Yes, I will be swapping few parts from this to my FJ40 which is my priority. Family cruiser ? can't comment now but yes there is a possibility.

Its a beauty. and what an engine man. I hope are planning to keep the Gas Guzzler instead of ruining it by plonking a diesel.:)

Yes Ken. I was referring this vehicle only. Finally it has reached my hands. I'm not going to change the engine anyway it is giving around 7-8kms so shouldn't be an issue.

Diesel is completely impossible as the endorsement etc etc comes into the worries. As of now this will retain it's original shape until my FJ40 restoration reaches to some level, if required the under body parts from FJ62 will be swapped with my FJ40.

lol: I wish your word come to reality. Actually the fact is that I have transferred my CJ3B to JeepCaptain and replaced the CJ3B with Toyota Landcruiser FJ62.

Once again FJ62 is bought with the intention of converting it as donor vehicle for drive terrain parts to my FJ40 restoration. But now I'm re-thinking to withdraw the donor vehicle model as FJ62 impressed me in the first 100kms drive.


Anyway I have only Mahindra Classic with a trailer, Toyota Landcruiser FJ40, Toyota Landcruiser FJ62 and a Maruti Suzuki Zen Estilo car. I have already sold many of my two wheelers for the space constraint. Even the four wheelers are parked in different places. After the FJ40 restoration my Classic with trailer will go to farm and it will stay there permanently.

Congrats man,its a beast,i love the 60 series for its raw power and simplicity.Though your particular model is a FJ60/HJ61 and not a FJ62,as FJ62 came with rectangular lights in pair of two's like i have,attaching a pic of my FJ62 and few i downloaded,the dashboard is different as well.None the less,the 60 series is one hell of a machine specially for expeditions and still serves many travelers across the globe.Have fun with it and dont ever use it as a donor vehicle mate,these are hard to come across machines.
