Some of the rattly old Roplas hard tops used to be quite sad. they never really fitted true onto the body shell - many of them used to leak in the monsoons too.

hi peopleits really great to know that the thar is getting here, finally.One doesn't have to be a mall rat or a wannabe off roader to want creature comforts. In fact its the other way round in the smaller towns....people look down upon those driving Jeeps, its true , and you have to endure the stigma if you love your jeep enough. The jeep being a cult classic will definitely have many avatars....remember the wranglers and rubicons. Trust Mahindra to dish out crap in the fit and finish department. Only goes to show that they think their products are bought by a bunch of hobos.

Can I have the lady's (both) number please? Need to tell her that launch is not in Jan.

So its in December? Anyhow Thar MDi is launched. Why do they (Govt.) implemented BS4 rule before launch of the Thar.... Now some people cant buy MDi 4WD as they are BS3 only.

Folks, a few weeks ago, the coming of the Thar was like a suspense novel, with many unanswered questions, high stakes, protagonists and a ticking clock.

With all the recent announcements of announcements of launches, showroom pictures, salesmen denials, DI here, CRDe to come, it has degenerated into a bollywood psychological thriller :Frustrati

Pardon the OT. I needed to vent :D

Want to book the Thar. But first a few questions I am still unsure about:

1. Will there be a problem with warranty if I fit an after maket A/C?
2. Will there be an option for dealer-fitted A/C?
3. Working on a design for a HT. If I get this fitted on my own along with a roll-cage, will it void the warranty as well?

Dear all, It was a great day yesterday, I met the Thar ,I drove her ,Did some off roading ( climbed a hill actually ,not by road )

It was a great experiance , Its truely a powerfull beast , the power to weight ratio is so good & ooddels of torque .

I must admit that it impressed me . I have driven Jeeps , Prados, Land Rovers ,Range rover ( once ) & even some heavy weights, But I must admit that this is a wild horse just waiting to take off.

A simple nimble ,low profile mean looking machine , but really a monster just waiting to be Unleashed .

Sudarshan, Did you drive the Black or the White one? Which was better?

Both,lol: but the black one I liked the most ( its a humpty,dumpty ol lady , suits my style ,you know :D )

The black one is the old prototype and the white one production model? My first Thar ride, had a similar experience, it was like riding a tiger, it just takes off.:)

Might I add... the interest in Thar's launch is more than anything ive seen in recent years for any vehicle , If priced around 5L we will surely see a lot many of them on the roads !
