Team-BHP's new Electric Car section

Guess we are among the first - if not the first - website in India to have a dedicated section for Electric Cars. Whatever the case, we're definitely the first to have solid, elaborate & unbiased content in it! About 250 threads moved there already and more are underway (EDIT: Now 500). Our Road Safety section is also the only one of its kind in India.

Check out our brand-new EV forum at this link.

While they aren't a replacement for petrol or diesel cars just yet, EVs have gained enough momentum to warrant a dedicated section for focused reporting & discussions. Request: If you should see any thread that needs to be moved there, please report it and a Team-BHP Moderator will take care of the same.

In case you've missed them, here are 2 top-class recent EV threads:

1. Electric Cars through the eyes of a diehard petrol-head

2. Hyundai Kona Review

About time.

I would also request you to consider creating a sub section for electric two wheelers too. The Indian vehicle landscape is slowly but surely moving towards the big E and it behoves us to be in the forefront of discussions and information about the same.

Thanks for the initiative.

Great decision. Wow 250 threads. Did not realize there were that many.

The electric vehicle scene is slowly gathering steam. Waiting for that big break through or pivot specific to India that will really make it take off.

As always Team-Bhp is thinking ahead and already building the content that will set a solid foundation.

There should be a provision for having a map that can be used to identify the charging stations across the country. In the long run, number of charging station will be directly proportional to the number of EV's running on the road

~375 up now! Am sure we'll cross 400 soon. The team is currently searching & moving threads.

All EVs that I've driven come with onboard maps to locate the nearest charging station. They also tell you whether you'll reach it with your current battery level! Outside of the car, I'd trust their app or something like Google Maps to locate chargers.

There is an app on android called recharge india, this details all the the EV charging points. this includes charging points of Mahindra/Reva, Ather, community 15A plugs, etc.

This is a very nice suggestion. I strongly believe that in India, the EV revolution will start with the two-wheelers. Some amazing E-Two wheelers are launched (like Ather, Chetak). A dedicated sub-forum for E- Twowheeler section is a must.

Re: Team-BHP's new Electric Car section

Excellent move. The thread should have separate sections on EVCars, EV Two Wheelers, "Everything you want to know about EV Batteries" , EV Technical Section.

In 15 to 20 years time this will be mainstream and maybe we'll have to put the ICE pieces in a separate section!!!

Re: Team-BHP's new Electric Car section

"Fast charging is the key to enabling wide spread introduction of electric vehicles,"
This article on fast charging of the battery for EV would be a boon.

Re: Team-BHP's new Electric Car section

Superb Move - I remember suggesting this somewhere (probably in the suggestions thread). With the growing number of electric 2 wheeler's and 4-wheelers, it was much needed.

Congrats GTO!

On a funny note : instead of a new section, how about a new sub site called - Team-KWH.

Re: Team-BHP's new Electric Car section

A colleague introduced me to EV West. A company that offers solutions to convert just about any gasoline powered vehicle to electric. This is going to be big business for sure.

Re: Team-BHP's new Electric Car section

Finally there is a EV section

Can we have 3 subsections under that ?

Electric vehicles -
-Cars
-Motorcycles
- Rest of the vehicles ( bicycles , trucks , ...)
