I am thrilled to share that I finally purchased the XL6 Alpha Plus AT last month. I want to express my gratitude for all the help provided in this forum (2022 Maruti XL6 Facelift Review).

On the same day that I booked the car, I began searching for a paint protection treatment. Booking the XL6 in May, due to my past experiences, I strongly felt this treatment was essential to maintain the car's cleanliness and shine for an extended period, so started my lookout.

My previous car was a Polo that I bought in 2011. At that time, Nirmal and Mohsin performed an Opti Coat ceramic treatment at my doorstep. Without a doubt, that coating significantly enhanced the value of the car, which I used for almost 12 years.

Without a second thought, I realized that paint protection was a necessity for my new car as well.

However, many things have changed over these 12 years – I've aged, no longer an enthusiastic driver, now a father of two kids, needing more space. The detailing options available have increased, and I must mention, they have become much more expensive too.

Thus, I began researching what would be best for my needs: 1. I intend to keep the car for a long time, 2. I'll be spending less time on maintenance – cleaning and waxing, and 3. Using a duster might create swirl marks. After speaking with multiple people in Bangalore, I settled on PPF by Auto Engage, owned by Nirmal. This is a brand new space opened up at Maruthi Nagar, Kogilu, Bengaluru (Nirmal previously owned Keystone)

I was pleased that Nirmal, who worked on my first car, would also work on this one. I'm also delighted to witness his growth in the detailing space – what a significant place Auto Engage has become!

Regarding my treatment, I opted for their in-house imported, 200-micron PPF made in Korea with a 5-year warranty. They required three days for the process and an inspection 10 days after the installation.

Here's a breakdown of what was done during these days:

Pre-installation preparation (Day 1):

• Decontamination of the car from iron (brake dust contamination) & tar. Given this is a new car, not much work was necessary.
• Foam shampoo to remove dust and mud.
• Claying, where not much was required.
• Two rounds of polishing to create a smoother surface and remove swirls and scratches (to ensure a better finish and fewer bubbles).

During Installation (Day 2):

• Careful dismantling of parts such as handles, mirrors, beadings, lights, logos, etc., to enable the tuck-in process where applicable.
• Covering electrical connections, etc., to prevent water entry.
• Covering required areas one by one.
• After installation, edges are air-dried and neatly tucked in using a heat gun process (edge gum adhesion).
• Careful reassembly of dismantled parts and re-establishment of connections.

Installation completion (Day 3):

• Full-body wipe down with IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol), a degreasing and cleansing agent for plastics, wheels, etc.
• Cleaning of interiors and sanitization.
• Application of ceramic coating to PPF, plastic, wheels, and glasses.

Post these 3 days, there was some bubbles visible under PPF, which they mentioned is a normal part of the process. However, they gradually disappeared upon exposure to sunlight (~10 days).

Some areas, like mirrors, front & rear bumpers, rear dicky door edges, etc., does show a thin strip of PPF, called a lock, to improve adhesion on edges, which is again normal inseams.

I was extremely pleased with the care and effort put in by Nirmal's team. Here are some pictures taken during the process.















Around on the 10th day after the installation, below were taken care-

- Foam wash of exterior with wheels and engine bay
- Decontamination of exterior and interior cleaning
- Trimming of edges like bumpers,parking sensors etc.
- Rectification of any edges which are peeling, etc
- Ceramic coating top up

I intentionally kept the car rebadged too. Here are some pictured post the work!!












There is also free damage insurance for upto 3 panels in 1st year- cost of materials and labor will be 100% borne by Auto Engage and repaint work to be taken care by us. This is a breather!! and keeping my fingers crossed, that I should never be in a state to use this. I have also taken AMC which should cover 2 additional wash and wax treatment with ceramic top ups.

So overall, I had a very pleasant experience with Auto Engage. The space is extremely huge and looking beautiful. Haven't seen this large space for Detailing before. Some pictures of the space below-

Background:
Car wash and detailing centers have come up in significant numbers across Bengaluru in the last 4-5 years especially in the outskirts owing to the space constraints in CBD regions and of course with people buying large and expensive cars (which also seems to be a norm these days). I for one like to keep my cars for as long as possible and thus end up maintaining them in top shape. I have tried several detailing centers over the years but very few actually possess the right level of workmanship and technical skill which this detailing profession demands. While during early 2010s I had tried 3M they lost their 'sheen' with the franchise model. Then I was very impressed with Pete's (Head over wheels) which was run by Shibin near Marathahalli; ended up detailing my Fabia and Laura on multiple occasions. The results were splendid every time with his folks' attention to detail! Shibin however moved to Kerala and his center was also closed eventually. Late 2010s is when I happened to meet Nirmal who ran Keystone enterprises. I was impressed by the output when I saw the cars being worked upon in one of his facility in JP Nagar. I ended up giving my Fabia and also couple of my friends' cars on 2-3 occasions. Nirmal personally monitored the progress and the results were just fantastic. Fast forward to 2024 -> (I had tried Feylab also once and Ultimate Detailers during this timeframe as going to south Bangalore was a big hassle with my work commitments), I recently learnt that a new detailing center has opened up in north Bangalore - Auto Engage. When I further got to know that this was Nirmal's detailing center I had a big grin on my face as my Laura was long overdue for a paint correction, polishing and possibly a ceramic coat to restore it's old glory. I recently got the detailing therapy done with him and the results were mind-blowing. A brief write-up on my experience is given below.

The facility is clean, modern, and equipped with state-of-the-art tools and products. More importantly there is abundant of space to work on several cars and washing area, detailing area and PPF areas are clearly demarcated. The waiting area is comfortable, offering free Wi-Fi, refreshments, and a view of the detailing bays where customers can watch the technicians at work. The atmosphere exudes professionalism and cleanliness, which is reassuring to any customer entrusting their vehicle to the center. The quality of service is nothing short of exceptional. The technicians are highly skilled and knowledgeable, taking the time to understand the specific needs of each vehicle and customer. Whether it’s a basic wash or an extensive paint correction and ceramic coating job, the results are consistently impressive. The exterior detailing leaves the car with a mirror-like finish, and the interior services make the cabin look and smell like new.

My Skoda Laura was last detailed in 2020 end after a thorough bodywork. While I was contemplating a paint correction job initially, after talking to Nirmal and looking at the facility I went ahead with a ceramic coat for my 12 year old car with PPF for bumper+headlight (yes you read it right ). My old German (which still pulls like a freight train owing to the Stage 2 build for 1.8 TSI MT underneath the hood) was now restored to almost 'showroom' condition courtesy the afore-mentioned work. I will be taking my yet another 12 year old car (Jazz) soon to this center. I whole-heartedly recommend this place to anyone who loves to detail their cars from a true professional who shares the same passion as yours! I will let the pictures do some talking now.

“Artyom” had completed 5 years this June and I thought why not get some TLC for my ride.
It was long pending but I have been delaying it due to some or the other commitments.
I had come to know that Nirmal whom most of us know from Keystone Enterprises had opened their new venture by the name “Auto Engage” .
Since he is the one who introduced me to the detailing world a long time back there was no better place for me to go than him.
Spoke to Nirmal and realized their new setup was just 20 minutes away from my house. What better and more efficient way to accomplish my goal? Eh.

Called Nirmal and fixed an appointment on a weekday and reached around 10 am and left around 4:30 pm.

Following were the tasks undertaken by them in these 6.5 hours:-

Deep Cleaning :-
-Crevices
-Door Handles
-Alloys
-Beadings
-Engine Bay
-Roof Rack
-Decontamination of any scaling overall
-Plastic Trims
-Bonet
-Full exterior wash and drying
-All door mats were thoroughly washed.
-All the Interior plastics were thoroughly brushed and cleaned
-All the Fabric seats which were soiled with 5 years of dust and spots owing to the use were cleaned like new.
-All the External plastics were protected with a product they called "Akme"which gets absorbed onto the surface and offers good protection. The exterior plastics had gathered hard water spots and some nasty grime which was cleaned and protected.
-The glass had somehow accumulated some kind of oil or greasy substance which was not going away in previous washes. I pointed that out and they did a tremendous job of cleaning them .

Other Observations:-

Their enterprise “Auto Engage” is spread across a vast area where the detailing center comes first followed by their workshop which is headed by Jeevan who specializes in building rally cars.
There was a Merc which had come for coating and what I liked was that the whole process was first explained to the customer with its pros and cons and then the work was undertaken . No hanky panky promises.
All the boys who worked on my vehicle were diligently following the best practices. FYI I was there the whole time as it was an off for me so thought of enjoying the TLC process and having a chit chat with Nirmal.
I was also planning to get a sun film installed on the front windshield so explored the options with them and finalized on a sun film from CarPro which offers 90% VLI. I will be getting it installed in the coming weeks.
There was a Rubicon which came for PPF so experienced first hand PPF installation . I must say it was a treat to watch the boys installing it on such a huge vehicle.
They deal in PPF,Sun Films, Ceramic Coatings,Engine Tuning and many more.
They have separate areas for washing ,Decon and for PPF Install and coating.
They had a Jimmy which had come for Ceramic coating and Nirmal was kind enough to show me what was under the hood of that Jimny. I was amazed to see a bolt on “Bullet Supercharger kit” and boy the sound was mind blowing.Who says money cant buy happiness?
They also had a i20 N line with a Valvetronic Exhaust and the pops and bangs of this car was a treat to listen to .
This was the first time I saw a red colored Gurkha (4x4x4) with PPF on it and it was a treat to watch.
The enterprise is right on the main road so finding it is as easy as it gets.

Verdict:-
After 6.5 hours of work on my vehicle I can truly say it was worth it and the TLC accomplished without any complaints whatsoever.
I am waiting for the current coating to wear off and whenever it does the next coating will be from them.
I would highly recommend them for any such services and will leave Nirmal’s number (9916120561) just in case anyone wants to talk to them and schedule a visit.

After reading a lot about Auto Engage, got the following done on my 530d for a mid-life makeover as a mark of respect to this great machine.

1. PPF rework on left fender and bumper for a minor scratch
2. PPF rework on left headlight
3. Kidney grills painted in gloss black (from matt black)
4. ///M emblems (they got stolen!)
5. 70% VLT films
6. 2CH dashcam
7. Exterior and Interior detailing

Summary:
- Excellent response and experience dealing with Nirmal all throughout
- Reasonable pricing of material and service
- Objective and passionate advice on making the car look like new again
- Top class workmanship

I also learnt about the multibrand workshop (FNG) next to Auto Engage. Evaluating whether to get the next oil change done there.
