The roots of Concours d’Elegance lay in 17th century France, when the aristocracy would parade their horse-drawn carriages through the parks of Paris.
The Concours d’Elegance of America at St. John's continues this tradition of exhibiting prestigious collector cars and also offers an automotive art exhibition, a vintage car auction, Mode du Concours and many other social events.

So, To keep the tradition of showcasing classic, rare and magnificent automobiles, the car selection committee shall once again invite a unique collection of vehicles to be displayed for the 2014 Concours d'Elegance on July 27 2014.

It is also confirmed that Keith Martin (Chairman of the Meguiar’s Collector Car Person of the Year Award Committee) will attend 36th Annual Concours d'Elegance of America on July 27 this year.

2014 is the 100-year anniversary of the outbreak of World War One, and our show will be honoring the American effort in the war by exhibiting the "Liberty Cadillac."

Love these concours d'Elegance! I've participated myself with some of my cars in a few (much) lesser known concours and twice one first price. Once with my Alfa Romeo Spider and once with my Jaguar. Both these concours were very club events, nothing of this scale.

But I'm also a qualified Jaguar concours judge, did the course. Its' good fun, most owners are very enthusiastic and passionate about their cars!

We were very lucky in the sense that every year the Kansas City Art of the car concours was held just round the corner from our home.

Update

Folks! At the forthcoming edition of Concours d' elegance, USA it is expected that over 300 rare and magnificent cars will be shown. Also, it is expected that over 10,000 people shall witness the first electric cars, Jet Age convertibles, and early Lincolns, Packards and Chryslers.

According to Jim McCarter (Executive Director of the Concours d’Elegance) says "A committee of 30 experts chose the cars and invite them -- no 2 cars are alike. Only special cars are invited."

Concours d'Elegance of America is dedicated to the Genius of the Automobile. It is a unique celebration of exotic, beautiful and historically important automobiles and the people behind them; their innovations, designs and technology that influenced the world.

The Chief Honorary Judge will be Wayne Carini from "Chasing Classic Cars." The Masters of Ceremonies will be Bob Joynt and actor, voiceover man and Michigan native Edward Herrmann.

A part of proceeds of the Concours d' Elegance of America at St. John's is designated for the College for Creative Studies (CCS), known for its world preeminent automotive design curriculum, Hospice of Michigan and Leader Dogs for the Blind.

For more than three decades, the Concours d’Elegance of America at St. Johns has showcased some of America ’s finest vintage cars. This year, they’ll also be showcasing some of the country’s finest vintage motorcycles. Not just any motorcycles but Top Fuel drag bikes—the biggest, baddest, meanest motorcycles there are.

Peter is a self-made businessman who buys, sells, builds and races cars - his restorations have won awards at Pebble Beach, Amelia Island, Bloomington, and our own Meadow Brook Concours to name a few. He has also hosted TV shows including Dream Car Garage, Sports Car Revolution, and Legendary Motorcar on Velocity.
