My visit to Beaulieu National Motor Museum, UK

Hi Guys,

Was sorting out my computer files and came across these.
In 2006 my family and I did a road trip around the UK which started in the South of England and went all the way up to Scotland and back again. One of the first stops on the agenda was the Beaulieu Motor Museum started by Lord Montagu and I just came across some of the pics which I thought I should share with all of you.
The Formula 1 Mercedes is the actual car driven by David Coulthard and the rally prepped Citroen is the car driven by Sebastian Loeb.
We spent the whole day here and it was a wonderful experience - highly recommended for all car lovers.

Regards,
SS

Some more pics including James Bond cars and pictures of the adjoining Beaulieu Castle. The interior of the castle takes you back to another world and the dining room and kitchen are really worth seeing.

Enjoy.

Very nice. I loved this place when I went there some years back.
When you went, did you take a ride on the overhead monorail?

I also saw that Toyota Hilux that the Top Gear boys took to Iceland on their Polar journey.
And there was this deadly Formula 1 simulator too, which gave my wife and I the ride of a lifetime!

Hi Shankar,

When I visited there was no sign of any mono rail and no Formula 1 simulator either.

Looks like I'll have to make another visit soon.

However, even then it was a great day out and I would love to go there again.

Regards,
SS

I keep getting emailers from them with lots of lovely summer activities and "days out" etc.
That New Forest area is beautiful and those wild ponies there are also wonderful.
All in all, I like that Southern part of England a lot.
Nice temperate climate and great rolling views all along the downs - especially near Newbury and so on.

Re: My visit to Beaulieu National Motor Museum, UK

thanks for sharing. Brings back memories. It has been a while since I've been there. Highly recommended if you are in the neighborhood. And always check their event page, there is lots of stuff happening in and around the museum.

The most memorable, I think, is the car parts jumble sale. More than a 1000 stalls where (classic) car parts get sold and traded, tools and everything else the eager DIY Classic Car enthusiast could possible need.

The new forrest is also a beautiful part of the UK with many more very scenic drives around the area
