1964 Porsche 356C

Hello all,

I was walking down the lanes of sacramento to pick up my laptop, when i came across a garage that had 4 to 5 Porsche c for restoration.

i found one parked along side which looked in mint condition.

it is called 356 c, one of the last of glorious 356 series.

porsche c developed 75 hp from 1582cc overhead valve opposed 4-cylinder engine and had disc brakes all around.

it had four wheel independent suspension and was had flawless handling.

i interacted with the owner who was there to fix a small problem with steering. hats off to that guy for maintaining this car in such a good condition.

attaching some photos clicked with iphone. so pardon the picture quality

your views are welcome

Beautiful Porsche..the rear of the car looks even more pristine and antique.
I believe Robert Redford has many of these in his collection.

The four different emblems at the back are totally unknown to me.
Could someone throw some light on it?

Nice Porsches. Probably the oldest Porsche in India is in Mumbai, similar model, late fifties/early sixties.

The rear 4 items referred to as emblems are badges, a decorative accessory sometimes over done. Many vintage cars had badge-bars on which these were mounted, but they could also be fitted on a grill as shown here. Usually they are of some association or club, like WIAA in India. Of the 4 on the Porsche, one seems to be Porsche, a Ferrari, a German Flag, the fourth I cannot identify.

Personally I feel that they do not enhance the looks of the car, maximum one would have been sufficient.

I think they are various iterations of the porsche logo. seriously doubt that the owner would put a ferrari or other badge on the car . the logo you guessed as the ferrari logo is probably the stuttgart coat of arms

the fourth one is the local porsche c club emblem. and second one is not a ferrari emblem, it is a place - stuttggart, where porsche c was conceived, manufactured and than exported to usa. if you look carefully, porsche has the same emblem in its logo.

how i wish i could have test drive it, unfortunately it was suppose to be in repair.
