As promised, starting off with some pics of Vittorio De Sica's immortal Ladri Di Biciclette (Bicycle Thieves). Made in 1948, it traces the story of a poor man and his son in war ravaged Rome. The father manages to secure a poster-layer's job to support his family, but on the first day his bicycle gets stolen. Since its absolutely critical to retaining his job and feeding his family, father and son set off on an adventure through Rome to find the bicycle. Simple and elegantly told story, and is said to have inspired a young Satyajit Ray to take up filmmaking.

Ok, enough filmy gyan. On with the photos then:

A couple of GPWs used by the city police (any idea what "Mucleo Celine" means?)

A couple of commercial vehicles. Are those Fiat trucks? The bus looks like something American.

Another lovely viewing here watch out this video- Dudley Moore and Bo Derek in the 1979 Hollywood hit 10. The film is mostly shot in and around Hollywood, California. A late 1970's cream LHD Rolls Royce Corniche thats driven by the late Dudley Moore gliding on the streets is featured here. Alongside a black Mercedes 600SL with Bo Derek seated is shown. Besides lots of huge cars and a VW Beetle are seen.
The film is a lovely entertainer and also features many street scenes with exotic cars.

This is the trailer of Lemon Popsicle a 1977 film set in the early 1950's -a Chevrolet Belair, a Hillman Minx, a Morris 8 and a Citreon Traction Avant can be seen. The later scenes show rock'n roll hits from the swinging 1950's with passionate scenes

This one Lemon Popsicle 2 Going Steady a sequel set in the mid 1950's is also a big entertainer featuring exotic 1950's American cars. The trailer shows swinging hits passionate scenes but not the cars which can be seen in the movie.Lovely entertainment!!

This is a Dodge Charger 500 (1970) commercial

and this is a 1974 Oldsmobile 442 commercial

These are commercials and I do not know whether these rightly fit in here. Mods can please relocate the post if found unfit here !!

And ,what in this dear world, drove you to that conclusion, Wasif Bhai?

Jokes apart, I do have a sizeable collection of movies, and I intended to post all car scenes on to this thread. Just lazy to do so. Anjan brought up the topic of the immortal Vespa on Roman Holiday, so shook off the lethargy for this one movie. Others will follow shortly.

Edit: Can you help me identify the commercial 3 wheeler (5th pic) and the large sedan (2nd last pic) please?

That pic or the town square thing the car looks like a Lancia. The three wheeler is an "Auto" !! not sure about which second last picture you speak of.

The Greg and Audry followed by topolino picture has a Fiat 1100 sedan to be seen on the right

Incidentally yesterday I was watching Octopussy, part of which is shot in India and features the Udaipur Rolls RSY 1 (bearing plates KAM 1 in the movie). A souped up rickshaw too

Also a memorable sequence of a 108 Mercedes in Germany running on rail tracks.

Guys a request. Please take pains to put up pics of the cars in the movies you mention. Otherwise this will generate into a name throwing thread.

@wasif and Karl - I'm putting together a feature on all Bond cars in this very thread. I dont have all the movies, so rummaging through friends' collections for the rest. Just give me a week's time to ensure what I put up is thorough.
