| Distinguished - BHPian   | Classics spotted in New Zealand A few years back while visiting New Zealand my father spotted this early Renault chugging about town. A remarkably original car, the really creditable fact was that the car was on a long distance trip, and in full working order, down to the early crude lubrication system. The car caused quite a spectacle in the otherwise sleepy town.          |

| Distinguished - BHPian | As with many tourist destinations, older vehicles are run as 'heritage taxis', or tour busses. In this case an old Bedford bus, plus an old amphibious vehicle was running tours. A handsome old pickup on display too drew some attention.     |

| Distinguished - BHPian | Also on the agenda was a visit to a small private collection on display. Cars were (expectedly) predominantly English, though a few quirks were also found like that strange jeep (GAZ?) A trio of Austins including an Atlantic and a Sheerline/Princess    An early Buick saloon  A couple of Caddilacs   An unidentified Chassis - maybe Daimler?  A pair of Chevys and?  Later Chrysler  Daimler  A Toyota firetruck conversion  Fords were in abundance     A Singer and Holden sedan  1960s Humber  A strange Jeep that I cannot quite place.  A surprisngly small Lanchester  Later Nissan  A pair of Morris 1000s - one covered with fur (!) and a Traveller   An early Overland  Rolls Silver Shadow  Standard Fyling 8 and Morris 8  A scale model of the Standard Super 10 (just like my car) was one of many adorning the place.   |
