Thanks Steeroid and pedrolorenco for your wonderful responses.
Still going through all the links given by pedrolourenco....
Will come back after I finish...:-)
With a heavy heart, my Montra Blues 1.2, 2015 was stolen from my compound along with my sons bike.
We had got the insurance cover, went to the police station to lodge the FIR but those guys are telling me to wait for couple of days. I was in love with the bike and had started getting into groove of cycling used to do 40/45 kms on weekends. Now, since I am addicted to the hybrids I have to buy the next one soon. Was happy with Montra Blues other than the gear shifting, which maybe was due to lack of maintenance.
Since I want a another one, rather forced to, what is the option any new proven bike better VFM? Bought the Blues for 23.5k but can extend budget by another couple of thousands, or should I get the same bike again?
It's literally a mourning period for me and I don't know I was in love with the riding experience the Montra would give and since I haven't have experienced any other bike, maybe I am biased.

Went Bike checking yesterday saw the Starkenn has lockup forks, Hybrid, was tad more expensive than Montra Blues 1.2, with discounts is ready deliver at 27 k , after 10 percent discount.what says,on the other side was tempted by the hydraulic brakes of some of the Scott models but am jittery of maintenance and all are 40 K plus. what say
I would carry these high end bikes up to my apartment, and never leave it out trusting the locks. They're lightweight and so easily flickable.

That seems to be a TT bike - you planning on doing a lot of time trials/races in the future?

No sir. Just ride. It's aero geometry. That's all I know. :p
Folks, Need some advice -
I'm contemplating getting back to cycling and I have been checking out models here at Chennai.
I test rode the Trek 3500 and Schwinn Mesa2. both in 19.5" frame. I test rode for about 3kms each and was very comfortable with Mesa 2.
I'm 6' tall and weigh on the heavier side. I just wanted to understand which cycle could take the brunt of my weight better. I was explained the Mesa2 can take upto 150kgs of weight including off-road biking.
The Mesa2 retails at about 25k including accessories while the Trek3500 retails at 30k.
Also, I'm buying this bike for some relief from my lower back pain and If its not curing it atleast I don't want it aggravated.
Please suggest.
Congrats. Its a real beauty. How much did she cost you?

Wow. That bike looks awesome and as Ninja mentioned, looks like a TT bike. A Meridia Reacto 500 comes with Ultegra components and should have cost near 1Lac. Maybe you doubled your budget :)
Wishing you thousands of miles of healthy and safe riding!

Thanks graaja for your kind words. Yeah, someone said: Buy a road bike you almost cannot afford! :D
But the fact is, I liked the bike as soon as I set my eyes on it. No further thoughts...

Thanks Sebring. It cost me north side of 1 lakh, including accessories.
Hoping to ride for many miles...:)
Finally the bike I decided to get after the Blues got robbed. Just went for a 20 k run and it's well behaved. Will know more after breaking in.

Hello BHPians,
Since December last year, I took to cycling once again and I am just loving the long rides over the weekends. To test if I was really going to continue this hobby I went in for the basic Btwin Rockrider 5.0. It is one beautiful entry level bike and I have had very good times with it. The longest I have ridden is 60KMs.
Here is a picture of my ride
Now for the query that i have for you folks. I am 6 feet 2 inches tall and even RR 5.0's largest frame looks and feels small on me. The aggressive riding posture does get to me on long rides and I frequently take my hands off the handle bar and try to sit straight on the bike. Due to this aggressive riding posture which makes me tired over long rides, I skip all the 100 KM plus rides with my group.
I am looking for an upgrade now and need some suggestions from everyone. My budget is around 28K which can be extended to a maximum of 30K. I am looking for a MTB only as we go for occasional off-roading rides too. The members in my cycling group suggest Merida hands down.
My requirement is that I need a comfortable ride without an aggressive riding posture. Any help on my query will be highly appreciated.
Thank You
