Witson Unit for i10

HYUNDAI i10----ZHUHAI WITSON INDUSTRIAL CO.,LTD.---Professional Car DVD Player Manufacturer

Has anybody any experience of installing it? I plan to install it in my upcoming i10 Asta.

Will the bluetooth steering controls work? The manufacturer cannot confirm.

Also, can we use mapmyindia on witson HU?

Re: Witson Unit for i10

Did install and its a beauty. Well , applications which work are:
1. Bluetooth
2. DVD
3. USB - all kinds of files
4. Radio
5. Ipod interfacing
6. navigation

I dont have steering mounted controls. So I cannot confirm that, but apparently it has something to do with the CAN BUS. Well as far as I am concerned, everything works perfectly and yeah well, being a chinese unit on Windows CE, I really dont know how long it will last. So far AnkitPrashar who installed it first has nothad a problem. I hope ,i go the same way too.

Re: Witson Unit for i10

I sourced it from the manufacturers themselves. I guess its the best option rather than sourcing from Alibaba or other similar sites.
You can get in touch with anna@witson.com.
She will help you out, with the products, undervaluing it for customs purposes etc;

It cost me a total of 466 USD for the( unit + reverse cam(20$) + Igo maps for india(10 $)). plus another 4k for the customs.
delivery was by DHL .

Re: Witson Unit for i10

I agree with ventolute - the best source is the manufacturer.

@ventolute - you installed it in the vento? or in and i10?

I am looking at the i10 specific model.

Re: Witson Unit for i10

Yeah well , I installed it on the Vento. but whatever the model, their units are simple plug and play. So it shouldnt matter.

Hey Ventolute, could you please post pics of your install and the menus?

I've read that the menus/fonts are not very good looking, and apparently people have used some tools to improve/change the menu icons on these Head Units:

Thanks!

Re: Witson Unit for i10

KNP, You have to first remove the aircon vents, its just press fit. There should be a puller tool available for this purpose, or you have to use something else to pull it out without breaking anything. Once the vent is out you can unscrew the HU from the front. Pull and push the hu, from behind through the glove box opening, (remove glove box first) and it should be out.
