But for a basshead, like amit, the definition of bass is sheer thumping underwear-shaking boommmmmmmmmm baaammmmmm booommm rummmble. Thats the best part about car audio, you can be proud of the fact that your car shakes to the chassis-bone and "audio purity" has NOTHING to do with it and it is fun fun funnn!!! ;)

I get a headache when I listen to an overly bassy system. I guess Amit would get a headache if he listened to my system (or he'd ask Where's the Bass?).

baap log!! you people are not understanding me... I am not the kind of person who loves to listen music at high volume all the time.. And i hate hate hate hate low quality sound...

It is just that i want a power pact system in the boot of the car, of which i would be proud of and my be once in a blue moon listen to it at a bit high volume.

Again , i hate music system that sounds ugly and definitely looking for a sound systems that sounds "SWEET"....

Amit, it is rather difficult to get a system to sound sweet when you have two 10 inch subs blasting away. You either have a system for sound pressure level or sound quality. You need to decide what you want.

cant agree more with vivek. Its either SQ or SPL.Now that depends upon what gunbir wrote just few days back.
Amit u shud go for quality stuff rather than quantity.

One can have SQL but at high SPLs too many other parts of the car start making sounds too and unless that is damped one does not get music. So after a certain level I would say that the car needs some serious attention - damping, custom pods, leather work, etc... or the system will excite parts that are not supposed to be making sound.

ya navin ji, i agree with you. How much does it cost to get the damping done? like damping only the boot of the car

check the prices of dynamat. good damping is not exactly cheap unless you are willing to DIY.

What would one use for DIY? Polyfibre?

I think Wurth is cheaper than Dynamat. McLaren used Wurth I think. Ask him.

I've used polyfil and dacron.

ok, now going the team-bmp way. I am giving you people my budget, so please post your suggestions.

I am willing to spend 30000Rs. Suggest me any monoblock amplifier and any subwoofer(s) to go along with it.

Make it such that ,sub + amp = 30000

Easy solution: Take the 300.1 for 10K and add 2 JBL 1200B for 20K. that is if you want 2 subs. If you want only one sub thake the 600.1 for 20K and add one 1200B for 10K.

Bass Head solution: Take a 75.4 for 14K. Add 2 GT4-15 for 13K. Add big woofer box for 3K now even a golf bag wont fit in the trunk. Now that will satisfy any bass head.

Each wurth damping sheets cost me 800 bucks .. Needed 4 of them for the zen..

Hi, i have a doubt about subwoofers.

Consider that two subwoofers and the same spec (i.e. RMS, db, frequency response.....) but the difference is only in the size i.e 15" and 12". Does it make any difference in the bass due the size of the woofer? If yes, how?

Thanks

15": Sd=450cm2
12" Sd= 330cm2

Bass is a function of moving air. if all other specs are the same (Mms, Cms, Xmax, Qts, Fs, Vas, etc...) then the 15" will move 30% more air and will be able to deliver a few extra db of SPL.
