Repair JBL speakers

Hi,

I have JBL GTO 937 3 way 6"X9" speakers fitted in my swift. Unfortunately I realized that the twitter unit has come off from the speakers. The twitter unit is connected to the cone using two wires which soldered to the unit. I did not plan to buy new speakers so I wanted to know if there was any place in Bombay where I could get the speakers repaired. Can anyone please share the eltrical diagram of the speaker.

Thanks

Re: Repair JBL speakers

Check out Bharat Radio; I've gotten some of my ICE repaired from them (speakers & Amplifiers) and found their work reasonably good. Repairs were rather cheap.

Re: Repair JBL speakers

any such guys for NCR ? even I have same JBL GTO speakers, same issue, wires have come off the unit, also the speakers are making tearing sound (phat rahe hain).

Havent used the speakers much and also, have hardly used it above 40% till now.

Wonder, what should I do now ?

1. Get the wires repaired ?
2. What can be done for the tearing sound of the speakers ?

If it doesnt work out, what should be the next speaker? I am wary of using JBL, as they started giving me trouble in less than 1 year. Would prefer some other budget speakers.

Re: Repair JBL speakers

Facing an identical situation with a year old JBL 6x9s. One of the speakers making tearing sound "phat rahe hain" even at 40-50% volume. Never played them loud as i dont have an amp. Powered directly from an Alpine CDE100EUB HU. Any idea if the same can be repaired? Also, will an amplifier prevent such things in future? HU has only 50wx4 by the way, lower than the ratings of most decent speakers.

Tweeters (quite unlike a popular social network called Twitter) are easily available.

In fact the entire 2-way central unit of the speaker is available as a spare. Why don't you contact the authorized service station in Mumbai? Speak to Paresh at 022-30080863.

Re: Repair JBL speakers

Went there, got it.

Sardar Uncleji worked on it, though the vibrations are reduced, however, I am not sure if this is working fine now.

Got it tested and am using it, so far looks ok.

Charges seemed higher to me at 150 bucks per speaker. Work was done at first floor away from me.

Shop images attached.

Hi

I need your advice in fixing my ICE.

This is my setup - All from JBL.

Front 2 components - JBL GTO608C
JBL 12" Sub woofer - JBL GT5-1204BR
4 ch amplifier - JBL GT5-S64

I retained my HU and the rear speakers as stock. The rear speakers are connected to HU.

I've been thoroughly enjoying the music for the past three years. Suddenly my amp has given up & doesn't work now.
Pl help me in fixing it / finding a right place / person in Bangalore to fix it.

In less than a year, same issue has resurfaced, speakers fat rahe hain.

Will see if any wiring is loose OR will change the speakers to something else.

Any pointers on simple DIY?
