Skoda Superb - Satellite Navigation integration?

Dear All

A Senior Colleague has a 1.8 Tsi/MT. Model is 2011.

1.He wants to have a Satellite Navigation System installed.
2.While he is ready to buy any recommended Sat Nav, he wants to use the in dash display to be used by the SAT NAV system.
3. I am aware that current SAT NAV systems can come with logic unit and display integrated.
4.In which event can the integrated unit be hidden out of sight or elsewhere and the display routed to the in dash display.

Please suggest what can be done to achieve the above.

I don't think the Bolero unit which comes with the Superb can support nav. He will need to buy a new unit, either the Columbusor Amundsen system, and then again get maps for them. So I'm not sure they will work.

Thank you for the very quick reply, really appreciate the same.
Will go through what you have shared.
Would you know if at all, how it would affect the existing wiring, warranty etc. Also any rough idea about the cost.

Cost will be quite a bit, maybe half a lac at the least to buy and import a system like this. It will be plug and play so theoretically they cannot void warranty. The problem will be getting maps for that.

Another option is the Caska head unit, it will have GPS integrated with mapmyindia maps. It is Chinese made so quality cannot be expected to be too great, but it serves the purpose. That will be 50k again.

Thank you for the details, i had been to a audio dealer at Bangalore, he shared similar information about caska and also mapmyindia. The cost was INR 54,500 all incl for caska and INR 40,000 for the other one.

Will update shortly, have shared the same with the owner.
