HU problem....

i've had a strange problem recently....whenever i turn on my HU (sony XR-4800) in my maruti 800 (no amps; just a clean matching sony speakers)....it starts to blink, as if its not getting the right amount of current. i checked with an 12V adapter, it worked fine. i checked my battery and alternatortoo....all is fine. any suggestions?

Have a good electrician check the power line coming to your head unit from the 'ACC' switch. Secondly, when you connect it through a 12V power supply, do you connect the speakers also? Ensure that the speaker cables are not shorting anywhere or maybe they are stripped somewhere and touching some metal part of the car.

take the car to your installer and ask him to connect another HU and see if that has the same problem. if it stops you knwo it is the HU if not the wiring. there is not much else left. often during intallation the speaker tabs touch the metal body and that could be the reason.
