HELP!! Audio Setup for Esteem

Hi All,

I would like to get some advice on aa audio setup for my Esteem, right now I have the company fitted Kenwood 4 channel set.

I want to replace the HU and the Speakers also would like to install a 2 channel AMP to power a Sub.

1. Is it possible to install the kenwood speakers in the front doors of the esteem? (2002 make VX)
2. What would be the best placement for the AMP, and the Woofer. I can shell out some more chits out of my pocket for an Enclosure if required.

Please suggest....max budget 7K for the HU (I already have an AMP and a Sub)

just need to know how to set this thing up in the Esteem.

Which amp and sub do you have? For 7K, you will get some decent Pioneer or Sony HUs.

7K will buy oyu a Sony or a Blaupunkt with Bill and warranty and a Pioneer without one.

It is the size fo the speakers that determines what fits where not the brand. so let us know the size of those kenwood speakers.

1. pay a visit to your local installer and he wd guide on the placement of the ICE set-up.... sub in the boot, speakers on the parcel tray, amp may be in the boot, or under the seat....its 222 X 2 so better if u install in the boot. front speakers in the front....obviously!!

2. if u are not into too much detail, install a good sony MP3 changer (CDX- 757MX) under ur seat, it wd cost u something arnd 5.5 - 6K. this way u will have everything, cassettes, CDs, Mp3s all....if u wanna plug in ur ipod/something else....take a FM transmitter and it'll do ur job.

hope it helps....

bridge one amp to drive the sony woofer in its enclosure. use the second 222 amp to drive the front speakers and use the HU for the rear.

Your better of fixing speakers in the stock locations on your car... unless your getting something customised (like fibreglass door panels to fix the speakers)

Rear speakers will be installed on the rear deck, why dou you want to mutilate the door ?

As far as I remember (we had the first batch of esteems), the front speakers are acommodated in the frotn dash itself (LHS/RHS where the windshield meets the dash).

Hope this helps.

My basic aim is to get the best possible sound effect because I would be installing a DVD player and 2 screens in comming weeks...

now I wanted to install some good speakers in the front; because I am the only person who travels in the car and I drive the car myself, so I would want the best sounds from the front.

There is space to install speakers in the dash, just the regular 4" speakers. I have already got the Denon installed there.

just for the heck of getting good sound wanted some more speakers in the front.

putting speakers in the doors of the esteem requires a bit of work but can be done.

Ok, since you allready have speakers in the stock location you can opt for custom fibre pods to accomodate your speakers (provided you have a slightly $$ budget) Like navin said.. it can be done, but = time, effort which = money. hehe. Or maybe Gunbir will be able to give you info on using MDF to fixup speakers.. take a look at the Tata Indica thread in our ice section.
AF zen had some neat fibre designs done by anwar & co. in Bangalore. No clue regarding the costs.

.
*Fake speaker alert* Denon does not make 4" car audio speakers. Just some incredible car HU's only sold in Japan.

Yeah Sam some years back I saw Nakamichi 4" speakers too. Denon does not make car speakers anymore but their HUs are smooth I would rate them to be better than Alpine. they have a certain smoothness to their sound.
