Just got this Eken H9R from this link, very fast delivery without any customs hassles, had asked seller to mark low value and gift. Yet to use but reviews on YouTube look good. Ordered 12 June, received in hand 26 June.

It is battery operated and plug and play carry along with all sorts of accessories like GoPro and SJCAM. Got it with 32GB Samsung SD Card, 2 extra batteries and a monopod stick as well. Build quality of all material looks good.

I have a Mijia Cam. It shoots videos and on the card, they're stored in Normal, Share and Event Mode.

Yesterday, it shot the entire 10 hour drive I was in. However, all the videos stored in the "Normal" folder aren't visible, only a red light is seen at the bottom of the screen. Also, the clips of the first half of my journey isn't saved at all.

Do I need to do something corrective?

Guys I have a DDPAI mini 2 dashcam in my car and I need the hardwire kit for it. There are many starting from 150 approx to 1000 INR. Can someone suggest which one to buy and what's the difference between these.

Is anyone using sjdash or sjdash+ dashcams from sjcam?

Anyday, avoid dashcam's with battery, especially the ones with higher capacity batteries like SJ4000. Within 6 months of use, my SJ4000 battery bulged making a permanent dent on camera's body. Glad, i identified it or else, it could have caused an explosion sooner.

I am replacing it with a VIOFO capacitor model.

Finally got my A119S from Aliexpress. Quite a fast shipping, I must say. Ordered it on 21 Jun and received it through post today on 05 Jul. The item was marked as Gift on its packing and declared product value was shown as $12 on one side and $15 on another. Perhaps, this is the reason no custom duty was charged.

I am attaching few of the photographs of item soon afer unboxing. :D

P.S. - I didn't buy memory card from aliexpress since it was very expensive. Planning to buy it from local/amazon/flipkart. Any recommended card? Samsung EVO or Sandisk class 10 something?

Is there any android app associated with the Viofo A119s v2?

This article should clear a lot of queries - must read before you buy memory card for your dashcam:

https://www.carcamcentral.com/guide/...sk-ultra-cards

I am currently using this since April 2018, had a 32 GB version of the same from December 17 to March 18 (scaled up for bigger storage space): https://www.amazon.in/gp/product/B06...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

No, there is no such App. I guess it has to do with the lack of wireless connectivity(Bluetooth/WiFi) options in A119.

Maybe a n00b query, but kindly excuse and help is possible!

I am planning to hardwire recently purchased A119s into my Fluidic Verna 2012. The thing is that the hardwire says the input required as something as Free Volt Input of 12V-24V. I think I should have paid more attention to Electric Engg classes during my engineering :(.

From what I assume, the adapter is capable of handling voltages from range of 12V to 24V. Am I correct?

Attaching a photo of my car fusebox. I have one fuse spare for each of 10A, 15A and 25A. Where should I plug it in? The current rating of adapter is no where mentioned, neither the input current is mentioned.

Yes, it can.

Ideally, a 10A socket would be better as these things need very small input current. So, the 'ACC' socket should suffice, and it'll essentially be driven off that,i.e, the cam switches on when you're in ACC mode and switches off when you switch off and take the key out. Fyi, I've used the same in my wife's Grand i10.

I have the same car with Viofo A119, so maybe I can help you a bit.
Out of these 3 spare fuses only one of them is suitable. 15A and 25A have current all the time even when you take the key out. So if you hardwire your dashcam in one of them it'll drain your battery.

Only 10A switches on when key is in 'ACC' mode. It's the only option you have out of these three. :)

@Halfoctave - Attaching the pics in the thread only, as requested (via PM), may help others too. Apologies for the pic quality, I couldnt manage a day time click. The last click is of the 'ground' bolt, I've used for the cam, on the door frame.

Hope this helps.

To your other query regarding the ACC port usage, I just could not find one which was low rated (10A or lower) and also was driven off the ignition, so that the cam can function that way. It was bit weird since I'd many port as options on my Storme. Anyway, even in case of the ACC fuse conking off, and if you don't have spare, you could always disconnect the cam; ACC would obviously take the priority! Although I haven't faced any issue since the install, best is to have a couple as spare always. :thumbs up

Nice review there SST! Your video on the accidents thread brought me here. Actually even I am on the lookout for a dash cam, but as rightly pointed out by you, good ones nearly cost 8-10k. I would ideally not want to spend more than 4-5k on it.

As a minimum req., I want the registration numbers of vehicles which are immediately ahead of me to be clear, legible at least. Still undecided on which one to take, as there are just too many options out there and not as many reviews/tests!

I am also in a same position. As my Ladakh car drive is knocking at the door, I don't want to miss the memorable memories to fade away while driving. Please suggest a good Dual Dash cam below 12k.

@HalfOctave, Congratulations on purchase of A119S.

After going through the forum threads, it appears VIOFO A119 is very popular. I am planning to go with VIOFO A119 V2 after reading few online comparison reviews between A119 vs A119S.

Most of the URLs given in our forum point to seller 'Shenzhen Smartway Technology Co., Ltd'. Though I also see seller 'VIOFO Official Store' (costly by around $20)
Which seller did you buy from? Did you select any particular shipping option as you got the package delivered faster.

Also, this is going to be my first purchase from Aliexpress. So, any tips? I will be using Net Safe card for the transaction. Is there any sale coming in next few months? I am ready to wait for the same if there will be discount on A119 V2.
