I am not sure if this point is discussed in this thread, nevertheless here you go :
I use a Yi Dashcam which expects a class 10 micros SD for its usual operation, I used to have a 16GB Sandisk inserted which stopped working one fine day when I sought the replacement under warranty Sandisk gladly offered (even offered double capacity free of cost) replacement with a note that their cards are NOT tested for harsh conditions like dash cam. I for one would like to keep it on round the clock, would like to know which cards you use and if they have been more reliable for a longer period.

I too bought this memory card for the Viofo A119S V2 but it stopped working within 4 hours of usage. Requested for return and received my refund.

Browsing online, came across this article:

https://www.carcamcentral.com/guide/...sk-ultra-cards

Bought a 64GB Samsung EVO Class 10 memory card instead. No issues so far.

My query for good MLC type micro SD card was based on above online article only. But you ended up buying Samsung Evo, which is good but still not recomended for dash cams or surveillance recordings.

In Samsung, "Pro Endurance" labelled micro SD cards is certified and suitable for such use.

Follow these steps, it's mentioned in your camera's manual (LINK).

I followed the steps multiple times and whenever I click on Update Firmware, and select confirm it says No files. Not sure what is the problem :Frustrati

Since my dashcam is under warranty I have sent an email to Transcend and awaiting their reply.

Do try the Pruveoo,

Just got this installed in an Ertiga... has two cameras and has a 7 inch
touch screen.

This costs 9k in India :Frustrati

Is it safe installing a dashcam with a built in battery? How does it fare in summers? AFAIK, this is the same type of battery which is used in power banks.

Try formatting the memory card once.

Thanks, I tried all possible options and the dashcam is acting weird. Hope somehow it gets updated and the issue gets fixed.

So I finally got this thing setup. The device is Phisung E02 running Android 5.1 on MTK chipset with 1GB RAM. The package consists of the DVR, rear view camera, GPS antenna and necessary wiring along with detailed documentation.

Sample footage from front cam. Watch at 720p though YouTube compression has resulted in loss of quality.

I own a Yi Dashcam with a Sandisk micro SD card. Its heartening to see that Sandisk replaces the card with unasked questions. Can you confirm within how many days did your original card fail and whats the usual warranty period? Also confused as to how did Sandisk categorize dashcam as harsh condition.

Within how many days did your original card fail : It failed after 12 months of use.
whats the usual warranty period : 10 years
Also confused as to how did Sandisk categorize dashcam as harsh condition: Exposure to hot sun, round the clock (or much longer duration of writing ) operation.

Do check the Black Vue DR900s as well. It's double the price you're considering, but well worth it IMO.

I came across it thanks to Wanderers' mention of it on his Endeavour's ownership thread.

For now I've ordered a DP230 which'll be handed down to the other car once I can get someone to bring over the Black Vue for me from the US.

Blackvue DR900 and Thinkware F800 pro are the best but most expensive dashcams. DR 900 has 4K HD recording and hence edge over Thinkware, which records at 1080p but priced near to Blackvue.

Best at what?

Sub $100 cameras have better video quality.

I know what you are talking about. I am equally mad about dashcams.
I am using sub $ 50 (70mai) and sub $ 100 (ddpai) and for sure they can give run for money to Blackvue but there is a difference but can't get into justifying it. But yes you can replace 'best" with good ones" :)

See a strong liking for the screen-less tube design, no wonder the BlackVue. :)

Only positive I can think of is pre-buffered Parking Mode. I'd rather just leave my capacitor based dash cams recording while parked, totally foolproof Parking Mode. Spend the extra cash on a bigger card.

Went through their website & got the below information

https://www.transcend-info.com/Products/No-958

Operating Temperature: -20°C (-4°F) ~ 65°C (149°F)
Storage Temperature . : -25°C (-13°F) ~ 70°C (158°F)

This should cover the max temperature that we hit

I received a mail about Viofo's new dashcam. Looks interesting, has anyone tried it yet?
