Friends finally the Tata Aria Pride ICE setup completed.

Products used:
1. Blaupunkt LE500BT head unit.
2. JBL GTO 504EZ amp.
3. Polk audio MM691 6x9 inch coaxial.
4. Hand made MDF faceia.
5. Focal 10 inch enclosed sub.
6. Enclosures for the mm691 speakers.
7. Some leftover speaker wires from my home theater project.

Since the harness for my aria pride is not available. I ran separate power wires from the amp. To the HU.
Since The OEM speakers in my car is sounding great, I didn't want to change them.
I have placed the mm691 in the boot so that the sound is filled everywhere.

Bottom line:
The sound quality is amazing.

Here are the few things at to be solved:
1. Steering wheel controls.
2. Navigation.

Things I wanted to know?
Can I add anything to this HU to get navigation?

Things planned in future.
Headrest monitor.
Blu ray player.

Friends, here are some photos taken from a Mobile phone.
Advice and suggestions are needed.

Hi Suman,

What kind of music do you listen to, and how about some more words on the sound!

How much did the whole setup cost you?

I hope fuses were used correctly when the wiring was done. Sometimes this can be overlooked and the consequences can be catastrophic.

Also, i can't seem to find any results on the web for "Blaupunkt LE500BT" (while looking for navigation possibilities). Are you sure the model number is correct?

I assume he meant to key in BPLA500BT :

Link to the item:

Also, more pictures and descriptions requested. Please do the needful suman :D.

Hi rehaan.

Am a music composer so I prefer to listen all kinds of music. But mostly heavy metal, Acoustic music, and Western Classical.

Now the quality of the sound after this setup is amazing. With the OEM fitted system I couldn't hear much of highs and lows. Now I can achieve little more details of the music. I generally set the EQ flat. To enjoy the real image of the sound.

For the better sound staging I have considered the polks in the boot. Normally I can not tolerate the music coming out from the doors. I feel like someone sitting under the seats and singing for me.

The mm691 polks are more like an advance level of component speakers. They came with a crossover. And I love the way they sound.

On the player it is written Blaupunkt Loss Angeles 500. Even I never heard about this. The shop guy has charged me 16000 INR for this.
Anyways am thinking of exchanging this HU with JVC 61BT or JVC 70BT for navigation. Any idea on them?

Here is the cost breakup of my setup:
Polks mm691 - 11500 INR.
JBL GTO 504EZ amp - 10500 INR.
MDF faceia - 500 INR.
Focal 10 inch sub - 13500 INR.
Wiring free since I had them with me.

Wont this be too much of bass?
You have the stock compos at the front?

The car has tweeters on the front pillars. And the 6” speakers on all the 4doors.
I have connected the OEM speakers to the HU.
The polks and the focal are wired to the JBL amp.
Yes The system is capable of producing big bass. But as I told I run it on flat EQ.

That is rain and dark sensing sensors.
Not the compos.

Sorry but have -ve feedback regarding the install:

As a pervious owner of an Aria Pride 4X4 feel:

This is a step down as you are compromising on
1) Navigation and
2) Searing mounted Controls for volume etc.
3) You surely have also lost use of the steering mounted controls for Bluetooth as well and hence in effect Bluetooth also as now it will be hard to receive and cut call / increase volume from the new unit screen without taking your eyes of the road.

You could have added an Amp, and Subwoofer without changing the HU - which actually looked quite good on the vehicle compared to this setup.

The sound from the original speakers is quite decent but can be improved with an amp and a Subwoofer. (yes am aware that there are no direct signal out ports on the rear in the original HU.)

Adding headrests is easily done though.

A little more -ive feedback from my side. Apologies in advance.

1. You're running coaxials with a rated power of 125w RMS per channel, powered through an amp which produces just 50w RMs per channel. They are running at less than half their sonic capacity.
2. You've mounted them low, facing upwards in the rearmost position of a 4.78mtr long vehicle, neighbored by the sub.

Even if your Polks were originally capable of producing clear sound, they're currently muddied by thump from the sub, low-powered and placed too far to make any difference to your ears. This isn't really sound staging.

Hi ACM.
I considered keeping the OEM HU by adding the amp and sub.
As I mentioned in my previous post. the sound quality was not up to the mark.
As you said yes the navigation and the steering controls are compromised. But I am in the process of upgrading the setup.
in fact the car pc project is in the planning stages now!

After the ICE setup now am considering a car PC project for my Aria.

Things want to achieve:
1. Multiple touchscreen monitors.
2. Multiple login sessions.
3. 1080p video playback.
4. Internet.
5. Eyes free computer access using steering wheel controls. Through TTS engines or screen readers.
6. DLNA. To access media files from mobile devices.
7. OBD scanner in future.

I want to keep the setup very simple. As a part of hardware I will be using one of my old laptops. That will be kept under the drivers seat. The main challenges to overcome is connecting multiple monitors to this laptop since it has only one HDMI out.
Figuring out the ways to operate functions like up arrow, down arrow, rite left arrows, space and enter keys. Using the steering wheel controls.

Am in search for a device to convert SPDIF or HDMI to RCA. For uncompressed audio from the computer. I need your strong support to make this possible. Anticipating quick replys.

I would strongly suggest that please use the search feature in the forum and you will get your answers or I should say the right answers.

There is a detailed repository of ICE setups including Car PC's which many bhpians have done for their respective rides and its available on this forum itself.

Do utilise the available information and then plan your CAR PC, also if possible do listen to some of the good car audio setup's, it will certainly help you decide much better what you actually want from your car ICE install.

I tried searching the forum before posting here.
Some of my questions were not clarified. Like controlling the PC with the steering wheel and multiple monitors with multiple sessions.
I request you. To point me to such threads incase if you find any where on this forum.
Thanks in advance

What exactly do you mean by this? Like multiple user accounts at the OS level?

Two questions regarding this:
1) Why don't you just use the 3.5 mm out (with a 3.5mm to RCA cable), especially since you said you wanted to keep this simple.
2) I looked around for a cheap SPDIF to RCA converter available in India but didn't find anything promising. Why don't you use an external USB sound-card instead?

Hi rehaan

The setup should be like this:
While mom and dad are watching the movie on screen 1. My wife should be able to use internet on the screen 2 simultaneously.
I think multiple user account login is the only option. To achieve this.

I don’t want to use inbuilt soundcard because of its poor sound quality. Yes I may consider good USB soundcard from M audio.

Regarding multiple user account login, the only method I know is RDP. But how far it is feasible for a car PC project? Or do I have any other options?
