Hi ,, just wanted to know if there is a way to convert the optical out of a car HU into a electric one which goes into an amp

Kartik,

I believe you are asking of converting digital out in RCA outputs. You need DA convertor to convert digital in analog and then you have to use preamp to control the volume. I believe in your case this is not required.

By the way what Becker HU are you using and what equipment you have right now.

yup autophile ,, thats what im lookin for , I dunno which model.. this becker is I'm also trying the optical way and have nearly got my hands on a Performance Teknique amp,,or maybe the becker Energy 350 amp they recieve digital inputs,, well however u have any links or whatsoever for DA converters ? im not even sure if its gonna be worth ,, it may end up sounding crappy , what do u think ?

For Optical input you can use the Alpine pxa-h701 It is very excellent piece of equipment if used in a proper way..... here are the link for the same

I can be connected to any oem hu and even with a alpine hu .I myself is using it ....

It can recive anolog as well as optical inputs.......

Thanks kinetik and sorry as I have not given u the full info about the pxa-h701. It can be controled by a control panel made by alpine it self. It is for those people who do ot have alpine hu like u and me . U can control all the functions of the pxa for that here is the link or the same....

and both of these pxa and rux combine give a vvvvvery nice product for ur car. And u can direclty connet any thing even a ipod , and any thing optical also..........
