12v Charging Point and Sound Distortion

My senior has top of line innova with company fitted music system. It has two charging points at front. The problem is while FM stations are being played and he plugs his mobile into charging point-passenger side one, there is very huge distortion in sound. Now, if he plugs the charger onto the other side-driver side, the distortion is gone. We have tried doing it with different brand of mobiles but the problem remains same.

Any help or solution in mind

re: 12v Charging Point and Sound Distortion

- Longer charging cable to keep phone away from antenna connection.
- Check antenna cable connections at the back of music system - if everything is well or exposed copper wiring in any cables?
- Check antenna fitment - its the radio signal interference that is causing this issue. Where is the antenna by the way? In my opinion, if the antenna is further away from charging point and phone placement the interference will low. How about fitting a cool looking antenna on the car away from phone area and run the signal cable in as concealed manner as possible?

Did you visit the service station? What did they say?

Remove that charging socket causing the trouble, pull off the Ground cable and try to fix that to some other ground location. May be use a better/thicker gauge wire for better grounding and see if the issue persists.

Most of the whines/distortions produced due to the 12V socket or for that matter Amplifiers are due to improper or poor grounding.

have you tried a different (possibly original) Mobile charger? A badly designed Mobile charger would put out a lot of EM interference

Thanks a lot for your advice sir. We have tried changing the charger but the issue persists. The current charger in use is an original Samsung charger. The phone used is Samsung Galaxy S-2. Even we tried doing it with a Nokia phone and a roadside 100 bucks charger but problem persists.
