My friend, thats nothing but a load of BS. That distributor chap has a great imagination though. Do your own research, (the truth is out there ) but please dont try and convince me otherwise. I happen to be from this industry and its my job to know the "inside story".

MBQ GmbH filed for insolvency back in 2004 and business was being run by an insolvency administrator. After the takeover, Maxxsonics now runs the show at Obrigheim too. The fact is MBQ GmbH is now under Maxxsonics Europe GmbH and the Obrigheim facility is also used to make some other Maxxsonics products. MBQ is now 100% owned by Maxxsonics.

That is your opinion and you are not alone. A whole lot of people think they are great speakers. And a whole lot more think otherwise. I am amongst that lot. In fact, MBQ has slowly crawled down the sales charts over the years. There was a time 10 years ago or so when everyone and their brother owned a set of MBQs.

Coming to the point, Hifonics is still an off Brand in US, but they are making some real nice products, they mainly are good with amps, subs I have not seen perform, so would not know.
Crunch is a 3rd rate China samaan brand. end of story.

Hifonics is a brand that benefitted greatly by the production of amplifiers like Cyclops, Thor etc by a south african who is behind the (long gone) golden period of Hifonics. This same gentleman has built amps for everybody from RF, US Acoustics, Autotek, Lanzar to Nakamichi. The amps that made these brands famous, were made by Mr Mantz. And those old amps are still sought after and are sold for good money on ebay.

As of today Hifonics has no great products of its own. They are simply producing cheap, korea/china mfrd stuff that claims to deliver huge amounts of power for very little money. Eventually, barring MBQ, none of the Maxxsonics brands are respected in the industry. And now that MBQ is owned by MAxxsonics, its gonna be pretty much a downhill slide for them.

Gunbir : Now u have given me a nice way to gaining more knowledge, I had put in a post of what I knew, and if that waswrong, I get the real deal from people who know, Thanks and I will eat my words now.
Me getting a Hifonics Golaith amp soon, lets see how it performs, that amp is not for daily use as u would know better, SPL is my idea, it sure does not cost less, the numbers will tell finally,
What subs do you suggest to go with the 5000 RMS ?
I was looking at a pair of Kicker SoloX 12s to pair with the amp.

If you know some amp which can churn out more Dbs in the same setup than that tell me.

for the amp u can go for the jbl
http://www.jbl.com/car/products/prod...=US&region=USA
it is 8110 watts rms at 4 ohms...

another one from pioneer , they have won the spl competitions with this amps only...

PRS-D5000SPL this one amp will give u 1500 x 1 at 2ohms and u can strap two amps together to get 3000 x 1 at 4 ohms.

Hope u will get enough power from these amps......

About the subs u can use the spl champ pioneer TS-W5102SPL or size does matter to u can go for the new 15 inchs...TS-W8102SPL both the subs have great handling power 2500 watts for the 12 inches and 3000 watts for the 15 inches.

If u r not satisfied buy these u can check out the mtx jack hammer and there amps will satisfied ur hunger for SPL........

I think I have a better option for SPL,
a Pair of Rockford Fosgate T30001bds and a pair of 12" Kicker SoloX subs, those subs will hands down beat the Pioneers with the above amplification, I am looking at importing a Hifonics Golaith 5000 RMS amp this year, will have to see what numbers that puts on the charts.
All set and done, it all about brute power here, not much music, just burp burp BASS.

today's the days for new expressions.

I gotta remember burp burp bass. Think I'll put it next to chin chin treble.
And I don't think I'd fancy a music system which didn't have much music. Just my thing. No offense ofcourse.

Now all that is so right, and the distributor sure is a very imaginative guy!!Anyway, RF isn't doing any better. So don't be surprised if someone else buys them out too. With stock prices at 40c, I'm looking at the options too... lol

Well I sure do agree with you, even i dont like that kind of bass for listening, but me looking to win DB drag not play music, for that I already own a nice Audio in the car .
I would not need nearly as much as 5000 RMS for daily use. 1000 RMS is more than enough for my ears.

With the right speakers 1-2W is enough for mine. The real reasons I use an external amp
a) to alleviate the pressures on the HU
b) to offer better control on the speakers (most amps have better damping factors that HU amps)

Re: Polk audio speaker dealers?

I found some good deals on Polk Audio DB6501 speakers on Snapdeal. Some reports of fake and grey market material sold by some online stores have made me apprehensive of buying this from Snapdeal. Has anybody on the forum bought Polk audio products from Snapdeal and let me know their experience ?
