Since that seems to be the unanimous suggestion, I think I will go for the comps + amp + sub for now and perhaps, have the rear coaxials fitted later, if I need 'em.
With regard to the HU, I'm thinking either Sony Xplod CDX-GT 350S or the Pioneer DEH-P6850MP, both of which cost approximately 9K.
Following are the technical specifications for each:

Sony Xplod CDX-GT 350S
Flip-Down with Front Auxillary
Power Outout :- 52Wx4
• Playback : CD-R/RW/MP3/ATRAC3/WMA
• Pre Out : Fornt+ Rear/Sub Switchable
• FM18/AM12
• BTM/DSO/EQ3

Pioneer DEH-P6850MP
* Pure blue dot-matrix OEL (Organic EL) display
* iTunes® AAC playback
* WAV file playback
* iPod® adaptor ready
* BMX (Bitmetric qualizer)
* EEQ
- 5-mode preset equalizer
- 2-mode custom preset equalizer
- 7-band digital graphic equalizer
- Bass Boost
- 2-way crossover: HPF/LPF
- 3-mode selectable loudness
* Rotary Commander
* Direct Sub Drive
* 3 RCA preout: selectable (front + rear + subwoofer)
* Level indicator
* Multi-language display (English/Spanish/Portuguese)

Which of the two should I go for?

Again, with regard to the amplifier, the Pioneer GM-6200F is about 7K while the Sony XM-554ZR is about 6K. What do you guys recommend?
The Pioneer Sub TS-W306C/DVC comes for about 4K.

So, costwise, I am looking at:
HU : 9K
Front Comps : 5.5K(JBL GTO606Ce, if I'm able to get it for this price)
Amplifier : 6K or 7K (depending on Sony or Pioneer)
Sub : 4K
Wiring and Install : 2K

I might be slightly over my 'stretched out' budget.

Hu ->6850

from comps -> 606 ( u can check out if avalable in grey around 4k or even less)

amp -> pioneer

sub -> pioneer 306dvc no to 306c (3.6k not 4k)

it depends which wiring ur going to install 2k is ok....

Thanks for the revised set-up, LBM.
But what's the difference between the Pioneer 306C and 306DVC?

sorry yaar i left out that part

if u buy the dvc u can wire it parllel to get 2 ohms so that u can extract max from your amp but if u buy 306c it is 4 ohms and this will not extract full of the amp.....

I think this must add more confusion but this is the way....

So basically, choose the Pioneer 306DVC over the 306C, correct?
