Hey Guys,

First of all thanks for the inputs you gave over selecting ICE
I finally got following configuration in my car :
Pioneer 3850 HU (~ Rs 7000/-)
JBL 607C Component at front (~ Rs 5500/-)
JBL 637 Co-axial at rear. (~ Rs 3600/-)

All three of above are with B&W.

It really sound like I would like to have, but lately (since couple of days) I am noticing bit of distortion coming ONLY from tweeters, ONLY while listening to FM. The sounds is "similar to" sparking (& am sure it's not spraking) & doesn't happens too often. I tried to listen the same song which gave problem in FM through my mp3, and there it sound like charm. Problem is surely appears with FM. Any clues what could be the reason?

I would be visiting my dealer over the weekend, but thought of getting some inputs from you guys to get an idea over the problem.

Thanks Again, you guys rock!

It is likely that the antenna may not be installed properly. Check the antenna installation.

Thanks guys. I went to the dealer today. I got the overall wiring checked (HU/ Antenna etc.) it all looked fine. He also replaced the 3850 HU with 5850 but problem still didn't go. Although he was able to convince me that distorted sound is coming from Tweeter. By swtiching tweeter off thruogh Crossover the itching sound disappeared. He was not sure over the solution. All I have decided is to reduce the treble while listening to FM.
Let me know if any one of you have got any other thoughts.

Thanks.

the tweeter may not be at fault by switching the tweeter off all he has done is stop the noise at the crossover the tweeter (if it at fault) will distort no matter what the source is. the noise source could be before that since it occurs only on FM. try a non Pio HU. Although Pio does make great tuners I would just like to eliminate any issue with Pio "super-tuner" ckt.

Thanks Navin, but I am just wondering what all I can do if Pioneer HU turns out to be problematic one? I have B&W 3850 HU & other day dealer replaced it with another 3850, then with 5850 but problem persisted. So in case if problem doesn't come with Sony HU, will B&W can help me anyway? I guess not

Another question I have is, is there a possibility that my opinion that problem is coming with FM ONLY is wrong? i.e. it might be coming with CD/MP3s as well but "hardly" noticable ... just wondering about possibilites.

Ok check the speakers out by removing them and putting them into another car or even at the dealer's demo rack (if he has one).
