DVD head unit

Hello friends,

I have a lancer fitted with stock Kenwood cassette player to which I have added a Kenwood 10 CD MP3/Audio changer. I have a Sony 554, JBL GTO1200B, Alpine speakers at back and stock speakers in the front door.

Now I would like to replace the kenwood unit with a dvd HU and screen, not the one hanging from the roof, but with an in dash screen, preferably one that will fit the 2 din space.

My criteria for selection would be .. it should be compatible with my existing setup, should be with in 30 K and be serviceable.

Please advice...

If you want some thing compatible with theKenwood Changer it would have to be a Kenwood unit. Even then I would check compatibility since the changer is much older than the DVD HU.

within 30k? I doubt. Do check with guys at MotorPlaza. Why not get a 10k DVD HU (single din ) and a pop out (fold) single din screen with it?

Not sure about TVM, but available in Bangalore in many places. And I had payed 42K for a 7037. Prices vary quite a bit at the different places though. Pictures of the 7037 in my car available in this thread.

Also, this Kenwood site has details about the current models.

SUN, the Kenwood dealers for Kerala are CP Auto Impex. I don't have their number. But I do know that they also run some big Car Accessory shop in TVM. I think the name is Car Palace. Not too sure. I used to know one of the owners (one psn in the family). Guy called Haja. About 32-34 yrs old. I'd met him when they had an office in Kochi, near Popular Maruti. (I'd done my earliest installs through him.)
