Nakamichi and Boston! - Any reviews?

Guys any reviews on Nakamichi and Boston speakers. Heard that they are good. I have not come across these two in the discussions at T-BHP.

Any Expert comments?

Nakamichi is way too expensive and exclusive probably thats why you didnt hear much about it.
Boston is an underrated brand. It sounds good. I've heard th FS60 compos and they were pretty good.

Nakamichi USED to be pretty much one of the best car audio units to buy. Boston sounds good but strictly IMO they lack in VFM. For the money they ask for, you should get more.

Nakamichi had it's days. Now it's just another one. Nothing spectacular about it.
Ditto for Bostons.

The Entry level Boston Compos here are not that good on the Highs , Mids are good tho, there is too much voice from the speakers which can get irritating at high volumes, not to my liking, but some people really like those speakers.

OT..YOu guys keep saying this brand 'Used to be good' and 'Had its days'.I've read this on many of the threads about pioneer, soundstream and now nakamichi and boston.

Now are these brands making trashier products,or are you judging the products based on camparisons with newer, better stuff??

I have entry level Bostons fitted in my car and I am quite satisfied with them. Though I haven't checked these on very high volumes but for moderate volume they are as noisy(?) as any other speakers. Compared with Sony and didn't find much difference in sound quality. They are just fine for my WagonR.

Does this happen with instrumental tracks also?

Brands have their good years and bad. Like Pioneer. Has had some pretty crappy HU's but NOW are producing some great stuff.

Other companies, sell out, or get sold to cheaper manufacturers that buy the "Brand" and paste it on, trying to sell inferior grade products with a brand that is well known. This generally happens with brands that have had days of glory and great products but were unable to sustain business.

Nakamichi is one of those companies that had to sell their brand name. I'm not so sure about soundstream, but i assure you, apart from the name, this current soundstream products have NOTHING in common with the old high quality soundstream products from say 10-15 years ago.

Hope this helps.

Dhoom responsibly.

no, it actually sounds pretty okay on Trance, the mid bass is quite strong but the Highs are just not that crisp.

I know, just kidding. They use a particularly crappy tweeter with the entry level sets.

the high end Bostons are nice, but you can do better for that price. The low end ones suck as has been mentioned here.

Nak is now onwed by a Chinese group who are putting the Nak name on sub standard, unreliable CD players that just dont work. Stay away from the Naks.
