hi lbm , can u suggest some other 4 channel amps between 6-8k. |
The Blau GT4, kenwood 84xx, JBL 60.4 , Pio 6300, etc...
go for JBL 75.4 it ROCKS!!
Hi Navin ji what about the kenwood 8401 is it a good amp . pioneer is not easily available in chd all we have here is Boss, Glider, fake alpines, visonik, pd, and other chinese stuff. what is the price of jbl 75.4.
The 75.4 used to about 12K. The Kenwood amp is good VFM for about 7K.
Navin ji which is the better option jbl 60.4 or kenwood 8401
I would go for JBL as it is better sounding amp.
lbm whats the price of jbl.
JBL 75.4 should come for 8K (grey), kenwood 8401 is 4K and crap. audition both first and then decide.

1. Its not available for 4k.
2. If you don't like the amp that doesn't means its CRAP. Let me rephrase it some other way. If you don't like a specific brand lets say GM (General Motors) that doesn't means they make CRAP cars.
Even Sony is a good brand but for the same price one can have a better product like JBL, but that doesn't means that SONY is CRAP. Its the largest selling ICE brand in INDIA FYI.
So i think you should refrain from saying this is CRAP or that is CRAP rather say u don't find them good enough.
@morten go to Sector 28 and check out audio getting installed in cars. That will give you a rough idea what sounds good and what not. OR you can ask some Chandigarh members to give you audition of the BRANDED amps they have in their cars.

dude, chill!! I never said
entire kenwood line of products are crap. The discussion was for 8401 in particular and it sounds crap to me.
There's no question of my liking (or disliking) a particular brand. This forum is about discussions and I request you that lets keep it healthy by not perceiving (and thereby commenting) anyone's intentions.
and sir, yes I already know that Sony is biggest seller off the retail shelves. Thanks for enlighting me though. :)
Guys i was looking at amp specs and all the power output ratings were on 14.4v power supply. so i think our car batteries give an output of 12v IMO. is there a way to increase the power supply voltage without changing the battery.

Arey mujhe kya malum, I said this many times. I have very little knowledge about ICE not much is current.
I have heard the 8401 and
for 4-5K it is a heck of a VFM amp. Ofcourse the 75.4 is a better amp but it also discontinued.

Your opinion will change if you measure (with a voltmeter) across the battery with the engine and various electrical loads on and off.
12V is the NOMINAL voltage of the battery. With the engine on, the alternator puts upto 14.4V across the battery to charge it. Coupled with load, the voltage on the 12V line varies 10.8 - 14.4 V based on load, battery and engine conditions.
thanks for the info deralte and who would need a voltmeter with all the great gurus guiding us . lol
