Head Unit recommendation for an Innova

I was told to get expert help on this site.

Looking for recommendations for a head unit for my new Innova. It already has speakers. Looking for a Radio (FM), mp3 player with a Aux in input and USB input.

Budget around 7k.

I checked in a shop and they told me Sony XPlod, Pioneer and JVC. Not sure which one and which model to go for.

Are there DVD mp3 players available. If so what is the indicative price range.

DVD MP3 players atart at 15K. JVC might be the cheapest of the branded ones.

For 7K you can get a Pio but if I were you and had only 7K to spend I'd upgrade the front speakers first.

I would definitely opt for a Pioneer 5950 for this given budget. It costs 6.5K +/- (Grey).
This HU has some good features which makes it very good for future upgrades. Yes, it has 3 pre outs also and that makes it very easy to add amps and make the setup rock.
SQ of this HU is not that great and more better sounding HUs are available in Alpine but with a lot less features. Basic Alpine HU will cost 8k +/- (with Bill and Warranty). It will only have a single pre out.

JVC and Sony HUs are more VFM.

Grey market - 4k you will get a decent JVC MP3/WMA player.
As Navin said, Use the remaining money to change your front speakers.

With a budget of 7k, Pioneer is the better of the lot. You'd get a decent HU for that price and it is preferable over Sony and JVC.

At 7k, you would not get a DVD/MP3 HU. The basic Sony HU with DVD support costs around 12,000.

Recommendations on a higher budget

Thanks for the recommendations.

What if I increased the budget for the head unit to 12-15k? Which one would you recommend (prefer a DVD mp3).

Why do you recommend changing the front speakers in Innova? Are the company supplied ones bad?

Karan, which model of Innova do you have? The G doesn't come with HU or speakers, so you would need to buy both, right? The V already has everything

G comes with Speakers only

That's right. G comes with speakers only while V has the HU as well.
