for 5k which is the best VFM sub
JBL 4-12 any other brands ?
what is the main diff between the 1204 BR custom design by JBL itself and GTO 4-12 and a sealed enclosure?
If i have to go for the 4-12 and sealed enclosure are there any recommendations for the box so that I can tell the same to the installer and also to make sure that installer is not taking me for a ride?
any thoughts

Dont see any much difference between the two. When you make your own box, I guess you can make it with better hand picked materials and more strong. You can get a 4-12 for 3.5k and get a MDF box for 1.5k. So that fits your budget quite well.

If you have budget go the ready made enclosure by jbl it will be the better bet and will sound better than the self made one...
