My HU (Pio 5750) also has Alt whine but it started after I got an Aux cable fitted. I belived that the whine came due to faulty installation of aux cable. So could it be that the installation is fine but the whine has come as characteristics of Pio HU ?

Yes its pioneers phree gift so that unscrupolous 'installers' can scam you some more for expensive RCA's, power cables, condensed milk, chapatistor etc.

Well I wouldn't have thought this particular installer unscrupulous. The problem emerged when the sub was disconnected from the amp. Till then, I'm told, there was no whine.

Do we really need a condenser or is the guy just yanking us?

The condenser he is talking about could be a small co-axial capacitor (I do not have a pic, but it is roughly double the size of a AA battery that can be inserted on the alternator lines, mainly the spark plug wires). the price of this can be around Rs.200-250 if my memory serves right.

This however is a problem of the past, I do not think modern cars should need this. The remedies mentioned here for the RCA ground should do the trick pal....

No it is not that thing....the thing you are quoting here is some thing to spark plug improvement stuff which is just time pass and has no real effect in the real world....

Yes, I know you weren't, I was just saying that I wouldn't have thought him so anyway.

Funny how someone wanted me to buy something for a problem that a 16 year old kid could fix himself.

And how did he fix it?

By not buying a condenser!!! :)

Actually, I'm told he followed instructions on this thread. All Greek and Latin to me, these connector condenser capacitor things.
