Hi Guys,

I have a pioneer 6950ib HU with pioneer TS-520 tweeters and alpine v12 f586 amp. can anyone of u gurus suggest a better amp for my system. This system i have installed in my swift and the tweeties are tweeting too much which really gets on my nerves. The gain on the am is switched to flat and channels treble bass are also off.

Do you guys also think putting a 6 way amp would be better or one 4 way and 2 way would be a better option.

Please bear with my knowledge as i am in my transition of becoming a sound guru.

Thanx in advance.

1. What other speakers do you have other than the TS20?
2. I have never heard of a F586 but have hard of the F450, F345, F540 and some other models.
3. a 6 ch. amp (or for that matter a 5 ch. amp) will be slightl ymore expensive than a similarly speced 4ch+mono or 4ch+stereo amp. This is usually due to the low volumes of these that are made. The only real advantage of these 5-6 ch. amps is that it makes for a neat look. The JBL 755.6, Audison Lrx5 or is it Srx5, Infinity 5350a and Blaupunkt THA 555 are some that you can consider.
4. If you have other speakers why not discard them TS20 altogether. They are quite harsh.

I think the problem is not as much with your source or amplifier, as much as it is with those Pioneer tee-esssssssssss-twenteeeee!

Get rid of those. And let us know what other speakers you have in the car, just like navin says.

The Sub which i am using is Pioneer TS-W307D4 and the speakers are pioneer TS-6992s.

Specifications TS-A6992S PIONEER :Sub Specs

30-cm (12") Component Subwoofer
Pioneer TS-W307D4

FeaturesPlease guide me as to whether i should change the tweeties or change the cat i mean the amp. I have confirmed the amp is a fake and somehow the sound is good though apart from giagantic high frquencies from my mighty tweety.

Is that russian in there?????:Shockked:

I like Russians! They're red and some are hot too! ;)

@Abhi2twelve, Your amp seems very much like fake one. And when you couple it with those HORRIBLE Teeeeeeeeeeeeee Essssssssssssss 20s, you get 10,000 tin cans filled with titanium pin nails rolling all at a time inside you car cabin with some Christmas bells added and there is nothing much to be done but throw those tins away. Yes, it deserves a better place than your car's interiors. Keep it near your apartment door to scare those annoying salesmen away.

Get yourself some good component speakers for the front doors and let the rear speakers stay for a while. We will upgrade it later or do you want to, now?
If you want to really change the amp now, then get a respectable 4 channel amp with some good stable power output from a famous brand (Preferably, with Bill & Warranty) and add it to your system.
Fronts can be powered with the 2 channels of the amp and the other 2 channels may power the sub.

This just a beginning of your ICE woes! We haven't got know your budget yet na! rl:

Wise decision! Get some good component speakers in place of the tweeties. You can select from JBL 607C/Blaupunkt sumthing/Hertz DSK165. Try out a demo and buy the one which suits you best.

JBL CS60.4 comes to my mind first. Then there is that famous Pioneer 544 (Hope the model no is right) and the Blaupunkt 4 channel amp which puts out 60W X4. All good VFM models.

it is the pioneer 944 (75 x 4 at 4 ohms and 250 x 2 at 4 ohms)

you can get a second hand for approx 6-8k range.

I think zak meant the SONY 554 which retails for 4-5K.

From what I can see you have a 12" sub and a pair of 6x9 in the rear deck. all you have in the front are a pair of TS20 which you intend to discard.

I would suggest you install a pair of 6" coax for the front. A good pair will cost you 3K. Then install the Sony 554 for 5K.

Get 2 nice pairs of RCA cable (does your HU have 2 pre outs?) and connect the sub and front coax to the HU. Use the HU to power the 6x9 in the rear.

My apologies for posting this again. Couldn't figure out how to delete my earlier post.

Hi Guys,

I have recently purchased a Kicker EX 450.4 Amplifier to drive my Rear and front components. Off- late after continuous playback for around 30 Minutes this Amp is automatically shutting down.

My gain settings in the amp are almost a little more then 1/4 from the completely low position. which I have tuned to much learning I recd. from the Gurus at this forum. I have checked for ground issues but they seem alright. My DSP's output is 5 volt & my Amp is 4, Can this be a issue??

Before I bought this AMP i was using a Blaupunkt 4100 Amp which had the Load reduction feature due to which probably i have never realised if there are any issues with my setup per say.

I have also tried the Focal solid 4 Amp for around 4-5 days with the same setup which didn't trip at all but discarded it as it was making my system very bright.

I am using a Chevy Aveo and my entire audio setup is:

[/FONT] Front Components: Focal Access 165A 6.5”
Amplifier: Kicker EX 450.4 (driving the Comps & rear Speakers)

Amplifier for centre Speaker: Blaupunkt 280 (2 Channel)
Woofer Amplifier: GTA 480 (Bridged)
Woofer in Boot: Blaupunkt Velocity VXB12
Headunit: Pioneer AVH-6050DV
DSP: Pioneer Deq-P8000
Centre Speaker :Blaupunkt

Rear Speakers: Pioneer TS-A6982s

I want to understand where and what may be wrong with my setup which i need to get rectified as an instant symptom which the GURUS can evaluate.

Hi People,

I am using a Kenwood 7016 HU with Infinity kappa 65.9cs comps in the front. Id been looking to buy an amplifier to power these kappa's and have tried Focal Solid 4, Kicker ex450.4 , JBL GTO 1004. (which I already have)

All these 3 amplifiers and very different sound signatures. To elaborate little vaguely.

1. Focal solid 4: Is giving a very balanced sound (Gives me better control for EQ settings but I feel absence of many background tones)
2. Kicker: MID range is more prominent.
3. JBL: High frequencies are little prominent but overall presence of tones is way clear then FOCAL or KICKER.

The JBL GTO is rated at 150 watts x 4 channel at 2 ohms whereas the Kappa's are rated at 90 watts.

I want to understand that is it safe to install the JBL amp with Kappa and if yes then how should I set the gains of the AMP as they start from 6.5 and increasing them to 4V to match my HU increases the output way too much though it does not distort.:Frustrati

PS: I do have Gaps in my understanding of ICE.
