Bluetooth audio for a 10-year old Mercedes

Hi All,

I am looking to enable/add new Bluetooth setup into my pre facelift 2011 W212.

it would be of great help if anyone has experience enabling Bluetooth on the OE Stereo can share their experience and details of how to do it.

Mods: Kindly merge this with an already existing thread.

Go with a simple Bluetooth-FM transmitter like this:

https://www.amazon.in/Portronics-AUT.../dp/B07XY2MFZC

You will not be able to use steering mounted controls, etc. but should take care of all your bluetooth audio requirements.

I am not too keen on getting a dongle, Mercedes comes with a male connector for the aux and most of the dongles also have a male connector, I am aware that a male to female adaptor is available but adding multiple adaptors will add noise and affect the overall fidelity of the Harmon Kardon system. I am looking at the possibility of enabling the onboard bluetooth for music streaming.

I think the best option for you will be to swap out the OEM HU with an after-market Android Head-Unit. You'll get what you are looking for and more (e.g. Android Auto). The options in these are plentiful for older cars and the headunit fit / size is exact.

I don't think you can just swap out the HU with an Android one, the original HU is still present and needs to be working and the Android screen is added on top of that. Please correct me if I am wrong.
