Slidable & foldable screens coming to cars: LG to unveil next-generation displays at CES 2024 According to reports, LG is planning to introduce next-generation in-car displays at the upcoming CES 2024 show.
While details of the upcoming in-car screens are scarce, reports do suggest that the company could showcase "slidable & foldable OLED screens" in the back of the front seats that can either be hidden away or extended for use, depending on the demand. The company also released images showing rear seat entertainment screens which extend down or retract into the ceiling of the car.
The image also showcases a massive screen on the dashboard, which combines the digital instrument cluster and the infotainment system. There is also a screen on the steering wheel and another for the front passenger.
The displays are expected to come with a "switchable privacy mode", which prevents drivers from getting distracted into looking at the passenger's screens.
