Strange that I can't see their logo on any of the speakers or the grills.

The declared Intex prices seem to put them above Sony and in the league of Pioneer, Blaupunkt and JBL.

Can't comment on quality till one hears them, but this is a dead giveaway: "Considering current trends, the quality of car speakers is pivotal" - whoever said this for Intex has no clue what "quality" is. "Polypropylene and glass fibre casings" to boot - must be referring to the frame, not cones!

Nah, aur bhi gam hain zamane mein.

Have seen some of that stuff, not heard though, it's mass imported China product, the speakers dont have any logo or anything engraved on the speaker, just a sticker on the magnet. Also noticed one thing that 2 speakers in the same series had completely different cone material and design.

I usually spend a bit researching components which go into my computer. Last time however, since they were being priced at around Rs. 250, I did not look up the keyboard and mouse brands; and paid dearly for letting my guard down. The dealer gave me intex ones, and my, after 10 minutes of IRC, my fingers would ache like anything!!!
And less said about the mouse, better. I rarely, if ever, use the mouse - (just the shortcut keys). Whenever I used the mouse (just to move the cursor, like, from the URL bar in the browser to a text entry field on the page), it was a right royal P.I.T.A.
I scrapped the mouse and keyboard within two weeks (14 days) flat. I did not even the heart to donate them to a school - the quality was sooo horrid. (Was living temporarily at a rural place then).
I will not buy anything from intex ever again.

They've got some stuff other than speakers - and you can see them here:

In Car Accessories

Look at the way they've mentioned the specifications, they don't even know what they're selling. It's not even funny.

Specifications
  • DVD/Mp3 Receiver
  • 3.5 " colour TFT screen
  • Remote
  • 60W x 4
  • Subwoofer output
  • USB, MMC,SD reader

If you think that is bad enough, look at the sub specifications:

Specifications
  • 10"(25 cm)
  • Peak power 1000W
That is all!!!!!

The least, least in the world they could do is to know what they are selling.

Well, though I haven't heard the speakers, but I have used the HU in the pic (the one with 3.5" TFT screen). There are a lot of features like - Memory Card, USB drive, TV Input, etc., you can even connect a camera in the rear to use it as a rear view camera while reversing!!
But, the quality of the screen is simply pathetic, it is so bad that one cannot even read simple menus like when you browse through an MP3 CD to select songs, you have to simply guess the track names!
And the one I am talking about was a chinese import but it is identical to the one posted here - no difference at all!

Regards,
Jaspreet Singh

"Our new venture personifies the excellent reputation Intex enjoys in multimedia speakers/subwoofers"

Doesn't that say it all?

The 2nd receiver does look nice though.

Maybe he can throw some more light on this, LBM are you importing these for Intex?

Come on guys, you know as well as I do that there are a score of products being made in China, with no brand.

One can make an LBM branded HU in less than a month, if the quantity is right.
I'm not surprised that it looks similar to Mega Audio. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the same product.

Honestly, there's a lot better you can do with your money than buy an Intex Subwoofer.
