Palio Sub setup

My car's now about 10 months old, and I currently am running a Pioneer HU, with 2 Boston's (4") in the front and 2 Boston FX9s in the back. The sound is lovely for the entire install.

I am now considering adding an Amp and a sub. I am hoping to close the entire upgrade in 10K. The concerns I have- I dont want to loose the boot space by placing a sub there. Would it be possible to mount the sub onto the "parcel tray"? This way the entire boot acts as a "box", just a question...

So given this - what is a good combo to go for? amp and sub?

Here's a post about a Sub in a Palio, and about mounting one IB style on the parcel tray: http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/ask-gu...tml#post555990

You can just about manage to do an amp & sub for 10K to 12K.

-- A Pio 307 in a box would come to 3.5K + 1.5K = 5K.
-- A not-so-powerful 2-ch amp like the Blau GTA2 special would run to about 4K to 5K. A slightly better amp like the Blau GTA275 (Now 280, I think) would be 6K. The JBL CS60.2 would be 6.5K to 7K I guess.
-- Wiring (Power & RCA) would be 2K to 2.5K.

You'll get reasonable bass. And you'll need to use a ported box to get the maximum out of the amp.

Or we can also make an "ICE trip" to Bangalore and back.
What say?

I second hydra's comments. There is no way you can make a compromise in this install. Put the sub in a sealed box (I prefer the sealed) which can be removed as & when you need the boot space.

Instead of adding a sub and an amp just do with a good pair of components in the front and a basic 2/4 ch amp to power them.

thats the setup i currently have. so thought of upgrading ti a bit more. The SQ is wonderful as is, but want to move the workload a little. bass to sub, and mid to co-ax and high to the comps. Just a thought.

The PA275 amp really deserves a better sub than the 307. I have not heard the new GT5 subs from JBL but if they fit the price range I'd give them a listen.
