Jvc head unit kw xg 604

Hey one of my friends had got a jvc double din mp3 player installed in his swift. The system had a frontal usb port. The model number is kwxg604.
i plugged in my ipod into the usb port and then the system detected my ipod and started playing the songs in my ipod and i could controll songs through the screen of the system.

i wanted to know that will the sony systems with the frontal usb port will be able to play my ipod like the jvc one did.

i am also thinking of installing a system in my swift but if the sony could play my ipod through the usb port and i will go ahead with the sony one as it is much cheaper.

The jbl one cost my friend 8000 without bill and warranty.
