Need help for Palio Stile 1.1 ICE Setup,Budget < 40K.

Hi gurus,
My friend has purchased Magnesium Grey Palio Stile 1.1. He is on a look out to put ICE with a budget less than 40 K total. He is interested in Blaupunkt HU. As he and me are totally newbies soooooooooo any suggestions/comments for any speakers, specific Blaupunkt DVD HU(as he is interested in Blaupunkt!),etc, etc,etc would be of great help.

Here is the description:
1.Your current setup (If any): None

2. Your Budget: < 40 K

3. Do you drive most of the time or is it chauffer driven? Self driven

4. Your Music preferences (Genres, favorite artists, etc.): Everything.

Regards,
Ramki.

for 40K, you can get a very good ICE setup.
I assume that your friend would also prefer a sub and an amplifier in this budget... please clarify from your side also

HeadUnit - Pioneer 7950
Woofer - JBL , Hifonics, Blaupunkt Velocity Series
Amplifier - JBL 60.4
Speakers - Boston, EFX, JBL, Pioneer

if you are ready to spend 40K, keep some amount aside for damping also.

a DVD HU will cost you about 15K I think. that leaves 25K for 4 speakers, an amp and a sub.

4 speakers: 9K
sub: 5K
amp: 12K

Thanks for all the suggestions.

To be more specific, now i was set to go for a DVD HU from blaupunkt.
Any reason to go or not to go for blaupunkt. The reason i selected blaupunkt is i heard its quality is good and i also get some discount as i go through an employee working in MICO.
Since i have the benefits of discount i want make use of blaupunk speakers , sub and amps.
So would it be a good idea to go for blaupunkt or shall i go for a mix and match.
Again thanks in advance for all the useful guidence.

Regards,
Purushotham

blau punkt is a good brand and is backed by good service besides you are getting a discount so what's the problem?

Why not go for an all Blau system. The THc/THx series of speakers are not bad and they make 2 good VFM amps in the GT4 and GT2.

Blaupunkt is a good reputed brand with very good (albeit a little boring sometimes - a German trait) products. MICO is a great automotive company with excellent backup and service.

Add to this fact that you get a discount - I see no reason to buy any other brand. Go for an all-Blau system.

The only Blaupunkt DVD HU model listed in India is Long Beach DVD35, MRP 27750/-.

There is a separate add-on 1DIN DVD player listed: DVD-ME4, MRP 15750. This one doesn't have an FM/AM tuner, but handles MP3, CD-R/W and DivX. Comes with Dolby Digital Surround, 2 AV inputs and remote control.

There is also a DVD changer: DVC03, MRP not known.

Hello Krato and others,

Thanks for all ur replies.
Well please mail me the price details to purush@broadcom.com

I found the following features in Blaupunkt "Long Beach DVD35" model
------------------------------------------------
MP3/WMA from DVD: over 1000 tracks on one DVD (at 128 kbps)
Playback of DVD+/-R, DVD+/-RW, SVCD, VCD, CD-R/-RW
Video output: connection option for external monitors
Excellent analogue reception via the DigiCeiver
TMC-data output for dynamic navigation
DEQ-Max: Digital fully-parametric self-adjusting 5 band equaliser
Clear presentation of display contents (e.g. MP3) on generously sized two-line dot display
Sub-out, 2 x aux-in and 4-channel preamp-out (4V)
4 x 50 W Max Power
Prepared for telephone/navigation output
iPod-ready: with optional interface
Infrared remote control included
------------------------------------------------

In this model i dont see the support for Dolby , DTS and DivX. All DVD audio content will be in Dobly/DTS so any DVD HU without support for Dobly/DTS may not be a good idea.
What do you think.. Gurus?
Also i want to compare DVD HU models from other brands.

your budget was 40K. this HU as Der Alte states costs 25K+. that would leave you precious little for amps and speakers.

Yes sir. (Please don't laugh at the next!) We have around 3 suitcases of cassettes mostly devotional ones, which my parents had bought. So i thought of a cassette player with fm receiver would be enough.

navinji, he is definitely reluctant to go for this HU. He is looking for a 15 - 20K DVD HU be it any other brand also. So which models shall be applicable to him?
For the rest 20K i suggested to go for blaupunkt or may be JBL. What say guys?

why not ask your installer. many users have upgraded their cassette Hus to CD and these barely used HUs are available cheap at your installer.

Pio makes a DVD HU 5950DVD I think it is called that retails for under 15K
