Alpine 9887

Hi guys,
Was looking up prices for Alpine 9887. I just got a quote of 21,250/- with B&W. Will the guru's please validate this or is is worth waiting for it to be available in grey ?
I need to confirm the order as it apparently has to be couriered across from Delhi and will take a few days.

the head unit bait.

it's a good price. MRP is 22990. but beware, for whoever is under-cutting will try to make up somewhere. it is quite common to get an ordinary head unit for 1000-1500 less if you go with a new car to accessory dealers. but you'll never know what they gave you for speakers ever. besides selling cables and accessories at EXORBITANT prices. i'm quite certain you won't get this offer ONLY on the head unit... it's the bait :-)

9887 at 37. 9885 at 16.

if you need to setup imprint, you'll also need the imprint decoder. and some expertise to set it up. this will cost another 15-16 grand just for the decoder which as of now is not available. that will make your HU cost 37. and to justify a HU as expensive, you need amps, speakers, damping and an expert installer. if you plan to upgrade, then its good. if not, then the 9885 is a better bet for 15-16000. it has the same specs... 24 bit DAC, 3 pre-outs, crossover board etc... minus the imprint.

SOS!!!! 9887 Dilemma

Guru's sorry for being a royal pain in the neck. I know that i've been all over the Ice forum, but trust me, i'm just trying to find my way out of the ICE Maze.

Ok here's the twist, Alpine 9887 @ 21,250/- with B&W in Mumbai, or Alpine 9887 from Dubai. Please help me out.

Somebody please put me out of my misery. Please.

21k is a fair enough price.

You are in Mumbai. I fail to see why there wont be any 9887 available there...
Surprising !!

Hi,

There is no shortage here. It is the shortage of cheap priced grey market units which are in shortage. The last price I heard it was sold for in grey was 16k.
