Alpine CDA 9886

Hi, Came across Alpine CDA 9886 as mentioned in the link below. I've never heard of this model, even Alpine's site does not mention anything about it. Is it the part of 2008 collection? Anyone knows about it ? is this model available in India?
Looks like this model has built in USB and ipod connectivity, did not see this in any other models of Alpine.
Any additional about this model is welcome!

I got it sent from Honkong from a relative. It cost me around Rs18000 for HU and optional ipod adapter cable.

Got the set installed yesterday morning. Earlier set up Blau MP66, Blau 6X9, JBL front/ TS20 tweeters, Pioneer Sub with inbuilt amp. so just got the hu replaced, the sound quality is good and mid and highs are distinct, ample bass. ipod operation is a breeze but display is limited to two lines. I am used to full color TFT of my blau and couldnt find the set to be an upgrade over existing sound quality. so the uninstalled the set and placed it in the "market place" and ordered an ipod adapter cable for my sweet heart "Blaupunkt".

I've got 9886 for close to INR 9800 couple of months back. I've bought it from Japan, HU made for US market. could not find 9886R. IPOD cable was complimentary. Now I think it's time for me to look for a suitable amp to run four speakers. Also need to get a USB cable for this HU

I have just received the CDA9886 from my friend visiting from US. I don't have a car yet so want somebody with an Alpine HU to test this piece so that the SQ can be evaluated. Any takers please?

Hey Navin. You are right these are 2008 models. I aint no expert however the 9884-9886-9887 all have the same SQL specs. The only thing different is that the 9884 is a white display however the 9886 and 9887 are biolite displays.

Also 9887 has Built-In MediaXpander, Built-In 6 Channel Time Correction,
Built-In Graphic/Parametric Equilizer and other goodies.

As you may have guessed I have a Alpine 9884 which I am very happy with. I would only let it be removed at EVO. Check with Blueraven316 if you need to test your 9886 HU. I would say dont bother. Just fix it up. There isnt anything that comes quite close the the Apline in its price range.

PM me, you could prob do a test run with your cds on my car itself.

Wow that was a good price. I always thought Japan was more expensive than India.

Its bit complex to explain. One of my Korean colleagues who happen to know Japanese had ordered it for me online in Japan. Because of the language barrier I’d requested him to search online for the product for the ‘best price’. I had to wait for 15 days to get the actual delivery as I was told that HU is being imported (smuggled?) from China.
I paid USD 250 * 39 = INR 9750. I’ve got the HU in a sealed box, with an IPOD cable and standard accessories. Shipping was free in Japan. I will get the exact Japanese site if someone is interested. I did some initial search at the Korean link below. This site ships products only in Korea www.audioboxmall.co.kr
Korean currency rate is 1000 Korean wons == 1USD
