Advice need for Aveo ICE steup

Hello Gurus,

I own an Aveo 1.4 base version (delivered 8th Jan this year). The current ICE setup is as follows:

HU – Sony GT470US (Got this from the dealer as a freebie)

Front speakers – JBL GTO 507 components (replaced the stock paper cone ones)

Rear – JBL 937 (replaced the Sony oval speakers given by the dealer as a freebie…came to know later they were fake and worth only 800 bucks!)

Amp – Kenwood 6403 (4 channel - 500 watts)

Ok now here is the problem. The current Sony HU has only 1 preout because of which I can’t use my fader control. This defeats the purpose of investing in components in the front door as I have to listen to all 4 speakers at the same time. Also, the installer told me that the jbl speakers will sound much better with a Pioneer than a Sony and the typical – “Itna kharcha kiya hai to thoda aur sahi..”

He has offered me 4 grand for my I month sony HU and recommended the Pio 7950 (8500/-) ..this means I have to shell out an additional 4.5. – is this a good deal? Or is that too much just for the sake of having a HU with 3 pre-outs? BTW he showed me the Pio 7950 in his car and think it rocks!!

Also, I am tempted to take that extra step to complete my setup and putting a JBL sub. However, for that he says I will have to upgrade the Amp as well. He has suggested the Kenwood 8401 (6500/-) He is ready to take back my current amp at the price I paid it for (4800/-)…which means an additional - 2700/- for the new amp.

So I am looking at 4500+2700+ JBL sub cost to “complete” my ICE setup. Any other suggestions?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Rahul

4K for the sony HU is good enough i'll say.
and its definately worth going in for the 7950. 8.5K is fine.

yes, get a sub.

for the amp i'll suggest this -

keep your existing kenwood amp to power the fronts and rear, and get a mono amp for the Sub. mono amp would cost yopu aboout 8.5 to 10K. Pioneer.
