Can someone throw light on this please!!!!

hi folks,

I have a Kenwood 2-DIN deck in my 2005 Getz. I have fitted Lightning Audio 350W speakers at the rear doors and Kenwood ones at the front(dunno the wattage as it came along with the deck). The sound output is not that good. What is the right combination of speakers to get nice sound? Can i shift the rear speakers front and put in a pair of JBL ones(i felt they sounded good) at the rear or vice-versa? Plz help...Plz mention the required wattage of speakers for front n rear...Can 350w be put on the front doors...Thanks

Kenwood is not known for it's speakers and as far as Lightning Audio goes I have never heard their speakers and consider their caps to be a waste of money.

I would suggest you change all 4 speakers. Which speakers depends on the budget you have. For about 7K you will get 4 coax speakers from JBL (GT5 series). A bit more and you can get Hertz, Illusion, Blau Thx, etc..

Firstly, what is your budget?

Secondly, what are the sizes of speakers that can fit in a Getz?

Thirdly, what kind of music do you listen to?

Kenwood speakers are not that good. Replace the front speakers with JBL components (Rs.4000 approx). Also, it appears as if the head unit is not bale to drive the speakers. Alternately get a 4-chanel amp and make that drive both your front and rear speakers.

Yup, would advice you to get a JBL amp and illusion comps in the front and co axials at the back.

being in b'lore you can also check out efx amps and speakers.

budget in both cases would be around 20K

Sorry for quoting myself but I figured you might have missed that.

an amp will improve sound quality as well as allow you to play your speakes louder. Budget about 7K for a good 4 ch. amp like the Pio 6300, Blau GT4, Kenwood 8401, JBL GT5 etc...also budget about 2K for good RCA wires.

Srinath, if you are on a tight budget

1) get compos for front doors now. Since Getz takes 6.5incher, you will need 6k for that if you are going to get one with B&W.

2) Next you can add a co-ax for rear preferably of the same brand as of front.

3) Do add a 4 channel amp later on , this can cost you from 4-8k depending on the brand.

You can also get a 2 channel amp and power the rear from the HU.

Hi folks,

After going through a lot in this ICE forum, i have shortlisted these two models for my Getz.

Front- JBL 607C
Rear- JBL 637

Are these a good match and suitable for Getz??? I am not willing to put an amp right now but might think about it in the future...

Can anyone give me the latest pricing of these models in bangalore and a good place to get them??? Are there any other good combinations in JBL?? I am not interested in 6x9's,amps,subwoofers. I want to fit the speakers in the doors itself....PLz reply/suggest
