Swift's Integrated stereo question

Hi all,Now Swift ZXi comes with an integrated stereo. Can such integrated stereos be changed ? Are any internal stereos available ?The reason is, the one in Swift does not have Bluetooth , and I want to receive calls on car stereo. Any other ideas to achieve the same are also welcome. Thanks,Reventon

what did you mean by interna stereo, you can always change the integrated stereo as it does not come with the complications heard about in other vehicles were integrated stereo is standard.there would be people who owns the older swifts who would be ready to take it in exchange.get in touch with your dealer regarding that option.

I just used the term internal stereos to indicate audio units which can be flush mounted on dashboard , like Sx4 Zxi etc and now in swift Zxi .These are factory fitted..I was wondering how to upgrade/change them if required. I wish to receive calls on car speakers and for that, if I am not wrong, best way is Bluetooth enabled audio units. The factory fitted ones will not have it. So what can be done ?

The Swift comes with the same head unit as the SX4. There is a kit to replace the head unit of the SX4. Haven't tried it, but this may work with the Swift too.

The HU is Nippon AFAIK - has got one preout.

The HU can be changed - the kit was sold by M.A.S.S guys for the people who bought the initial VXI (without stereo). You can fit a aftermarket HU in this kit - problem is the steering controls go for a toss.

What do you say Ajay ?

I can't imagine why anyone would go for the integrated HU. apart from the looks, there is little incentive.

A cheaper alternative is to scout ICE shops. you might find one second hand

of course, purely cosmetic application no doubt; regardless, anyone know the approximate cost?

Quite a few of them on here removed the factory HU from Swifts and SX4s to replace it with aftermarket HUs.
Why don't you post a wanted ad in the TBHP classifieds here?

As many people have said, there is a kit available but I am not sure how good it looks.

You will be losing the only USP of the stereo if you decide to replace it.
