My observation with BMX and COMP is:
BMX (Bimetric equalisation) increases the treble slightly
COMP (Compression) increases the bass slightly along with a loss in high frequency detail.

Don't know how effective FIE (Front Image Enhancer) is since my P1Y didn't have it..

I have a question regarding 'amp gains'. On the Blaupunkt GTA4 Mk II amp, which is it? Is it the one marked out in red in the pic below.

I assume not, since the manual says this about Level control:

Level control: The Level control enables the input sensitivity of the final stage to be matched to the output voltage of your car radio preamp output. The range of adjustment extends from 0.1 V to 8 V.

Adjust the input sensitivity in accordance with the manufacturer’s specifications when connecting the amplifier to other radios.

Important: Turning the Level control clockwise increases the input sensitivity of the amplifier, and thereby also the volume. The Level control is however not a volume control; an increase in volume is not achieved in the maximum position, even if this subjectively appears to be the case. The system merely increases the volume more quickly when the volume is turned up on the radio.

Yes, those are amp gain setting pods. They are also refered as level control.

FRONT- JVC CSV414 Coaxials

Can somebody tell me what does FIE and the hidden audio menu (when audio button is pressed for a couple of seconds) which shows something like Q2W OR Q2N, what do these do and how to go about tuning my head unit.

Help in Tuning Pioneer FH-X 559UI

Dear Gurus

I have recently purchased the Pioneer FH X 559 UI running on 04 door mounted 6" JBL speakers with inbuilt Sub Woofers.

This is for my Wagon R CNG(LXi)-2012 Model.

To be honest, I have not been able to configure the system to the best of its abilities.

I am looking at some clean mid and low bass and nothing very fancy.

I would like to elaborate on my current settings and would request if you could help me attain the best possible output:

Equaliser Mode: Custom 1

80 Hz- -2
250 HZ-+4
800 HZ+2
1250 HZ-+4
2500 HZ-+2
8000 HZ-0

Request if some one could also elaborate on these above frequencies and help me understand the importance and inference of them.

Loudness- HI
HPF - OFF
SLA -+2
Sub Woofer- Reverse
Bass Booster-+2

All I want from the system is some god sounding music.

I am unable to attain that at the moment and would look forward to your help.

I am a big fan of Metallica, Linking Park and Cranberries and right now, with this pretty amatuerish set up, I am genuinely missing the beats and thump big time.

I surfed the thread and did not find a similar thread pertaining to the FH- X 559UI HU.

Re: Help in Tuning Pioneer FH-X 559UI

Bro you could have installed a 2way component to get more crisp mids n highs then only installing 6inch speakers. Also there is no fixed setting for any aftermarket hu available. You need to get the correct wiring connection amplifier tuning done to get the best of the output for the setup you are using.

Also please specify the car and amplifier your using.

Re: Help in Tuning Pioneer FH-X 559UI

@ Ramie

This is a normal Pio with JBL set up.

It does not have an Amplifier.

I am basically looking at extracting the best output from the existing set up without adding any more components....

With a CNG car, I am anyways deprived of precious space

Re: Help in Tuning Pioneer FH-X 559UI

One can install a subwoofer in a cng car also, and wagon r cng have alot of space to fit in a hidden 10inch sub, with just using 2set of coaxials I dont think you will be able to achieve the sound your looking for
