I took my own sweet time for posting this, so at least let me do this properly.
Preface: My heart felt thanks to Nitrous a.k.a Mahendra, he stuck by me from 10.30 in the morning to 8.30 in the evening , a whole of 10 hours in hot humid conditions. He spent the whole time explaining various finer concepts of ICE. If what he claims is true, that he is not really 'that' knowledgeable about ICE ; I shudder to think my original grasping of the subject.
Nextly (intentional mis-spelling) I would like to thank T-BHP and all the gurus and members without whose posts I would have probably ended with "explod".
Lastly to the Yeti, just for the reason that he works for JBL and for all his inputs about the GT5 series and also because I like him and his yeti blogs.
P.S : Also because me and Nitrous were able to kill many a hour discussing the yeti and his antics(is that the right word?
).
ok ok ok, I'm getting to it.
I had been contemplating a lot of thing for my car for a long time now including selling it and getting a new one. After a lot of contemplation and what not, I came across the 'GT5 thread'. On an impulse I PM'ed Nitrous whether he knows any good installer. He replied back asking if I knew what I wanted.
"Ya" I said.
"When?" he asked.
"This Weekend?".
"Ok".
After a restless night at the office, I messaged him, and promptly fell asleep at 6 am.
" Can we move it up?"
"You want to do it now?" was the reply at 8 am.
Got up at 9.15 to ...you know.. saw the message, I discovered by the time I could hit reply button on my mobile, I was completely awake.
What the heck?... I called him and we agreed to meet up at 10.30, got to the shop by 11.30. He hadn't even opened yet. Finally at 12 he opens up. The next one hour is spent buying the stuff and drooling over it.
The 'ICE' as it is listed below:
Pio DEH - P4050UB
JBL 607C components
JBL GT5 - A604 amp
JBL GT5 - 12 Sub.
Fitting the components was the hardest part, I apologize for the quality of the pictures. In my opinion, the installer did a very good job with the installation though he made us wait for a long time with one botched up job while fitting the components.
Verdict: Absolutely blown away. The bass is tighter than tight (you know what I mean hehehe). The sound is very clear and not bright at all. and I dont play it more than 25% volume and the sound is perfect. A good mix of bass and vocals. I'm a JBL fan now and thanks to Nitrous it was a steal
I drive around aimlessely at 2 am now
.
Here are the pictures now;
