Checked with a number of stores today for the 814, the lowest quote I got for it was 22.5k thats 1.5k more than what I got a quote for last week!! That too from the same dealer (G.M Audio, G.P Road).

Apparently there is a shortage of supply leading such high demands. This guy promises me this rate is as good as it gets. Regretting not getting the HU last week. Dunno if waiting now is the best thing to do.

with delhi police banning lcd screens indash i think the prices of these units should come down.dont u all think like that?

dude that is not going to matter, and i dont think it would bother the sales of these hus much, they already sell in limited number and are priced way high for common man.:)

My cousin just bought a AVX 814 for 22.5K at Misrimal, National market, Blore. Anwar at Auto Fusion installed it.

AVX800 - Discontinued

AVX814 - Comes with a detachable panel with lesser options/features than an 800

Can someone please elaborate on this.

I spoke to Anwar and he said 800 has a 5.1 channel with the center speaker setup with other surround sound adjustments which 814 does not have. And it is very important to have a centre speaker if you are installing a AVX 800. Hope this helps:)

Thanks for your help Aditya. I picked up a JVC KW-AVX800 today for 22.5k. Many thanks to Blueraven aka Satya for the reassurance about this unit and Nitrous aka Mahendra for sourcing it for me.

Great!! More ways to burn a hole in my pocket!!! I was told the Alpine centre speaker with its own amp would set me back by 4.5k.

The 810 does not have Time alignment which the 800 has. Am not very sure whether it is required to have a centre speaker. I am using the 800 for a few months now without the center speaker. I am anyway banned by wifey from watching movies in the car, so have not felt a need for a center speaker.

Center speaker not required unless watching movies.
it does have auto surround which gives you good music without the center speaker.

The avx-800 is worth every penny paid for it only flaw i have is in the display my mp3 dvds, i cannot view the entire name and scroll does not help much but again thats the case in most HU's

Just burnt a DVD(-R) on nero. used the " mp3 jukebox" function .


However my avx-800 says " unable to play Disc Type, Please check the disc inserted". Tried burning a "data" DVD with the mp3s and the same response came from the player.

Could this be a case of a bad DVDs , cause i just got the avx-800 and popped by a local stationary store and picked up whatever brand he had in order to just try out the dvd functioning. Its a "alpha" brand. Im hoping the error is due to this.


If not , what am i doing wrong,do i have to buy a specific kind of DVD,and what would the best burning process be?

anybody got 710 or 716 from jvc.same screen size eqates same oomph but a little less on features and a big diff in price.i think its 23k with bill n warranty.what do u all think??
