I had looked around for Alpine.
Model: 9884: 13k without B&W (with Bill 15k)
Model: 9886: 15k (with Bill 16.6k)
Model:9887: 18k (with Bill 22k)

Thanks Nickoo...

Sorry - I misquoted price for 9884. This is 12.5 without B&W and 13.7 with B&W. If you can bargain hard - you may get approx 10% discount on top of these...

Just as most Pioneer HUs are bought without B & W (because they are good products and last), is it true with Alpine HUs too?
Is it OK to purchase one without B & W, and not worry about it going kaput?

What about the price of the Alpine 9873 (With and without B & W)
What's a better option - the 9873 or the 9884, and why.

Thanks
P.S. My PRIMARY usage will be listening to songs off the iPod, and decent SQ.

I had the same doubt. Refer to a separate post that I did - How to identify genuine stuff - http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/produc...ff-esp-hu.html

I would suggest buying from either someone who you know and trust -- and if you dont have that luxury of knowing a reliable guy who deals in gray stuff (Like I did not have sucha luxury) -- I asked my installer (a fairly reputed at his work) to buy one for me. I may have paid a little extra for that piece of mind - but thats my solution!!!

Thanks! Having said that, would you be aware of the price of the 9873 without B & W?
I may be considering either the 9873 or the 9884.

What is recommended.
