Simplest ICE for Alto

Hello friends,

My uncle bought a second hand Alto recently. He wants to fix a music system in it. I went through all the threads thoroughly but couldn't get my doubt cleared, so thought of posting a new thread.

My uncle has a budget of only 10k and as per my knowledge he would be able to fix only a HU and front speakers.

USB is a must so I have shortlisted some basic setup and would like to have suggestion about the best combo from members of TBHP.

For the HU with USB

Sony Xplod CDX-GT470U
Pioneer DEH-P5090UB
Pioneer DEH-P3090UB

Speakers(Front 4")

JBL GTO 427
JBL GT5 402

It would be great if someone could give me the latest prices of these products.

Is JC Road a good place to fix these or any other ICE shops? Please suggest.

Thanks

Pioneer 3050UB for around 5k.
You can get 4" components for the rest of the budget.

Does your uncle really need the USB etc features? The pioneer 2050 + some 4" coax should be around half your budget

Older people might not appreciate the convenience of USB, and may not see it worth paying ~ 50% extra to play through USB. And since he is planning to stick with just 2 front speakers , he seems to wants a basic system.

We should have at least one or two cases where we actually reduced a person's spending on ICE

Hey guys,

USB is compulsory as he has got an 8gb pen drive and less number of CDs. So which one is better technically, Sony GT470U or Pioneer 3050UB. Bangy guys, please suggest some good shops to install ICE.

One more thing, can Alto handle JBL GTO937 on the boot lid. What is the price at which the 937 is retailing now?

well if you buy them all in grey, then your 10K budget will be sufficient for

pio3050 HU around 4000 bucks
pio 180W circular speakers for rear 1500bucks
if possible illusion electra EL 4.1 comps or JBL 4" GTO 427 for the front in rest of the budget including installation.

hope you get these at this prices it will be a very good set up in the price!!!

Srinath, my install is Pio4050, blau in front and pio 6x9 ovals at back. Cost 10K and couple of hundreds more. Included extra panel for mounting in rear hatch; and antenna also. Did not add up to 10.5K. Have posted details elsewhere.

Thanks guys for your suggestions. Finally bought a stereo for my uncle's Alto.

HU - Pioneer 3050UB (Rs 6000)
Speakers(F) - JBL GT5 402 (Rs 1300)

Prices are w/o B&W

I must say that the setup sounds sweet in an Alto.

Cheers!!

Yes the price of 3050 seems to be high, I got one a week back for 4200 from a friend of mine. But that was without bill and warranty though

Fit the stereo in Indiranagar (behind Krishna temple, parallel to CMH road), that's why the prices are on the higher side. I told him to get it done in JC road or something but he didn't want to drive till there as he is a newbie. He is pretty satisfied with the setup. 6x9s will come but not in the near future. It depends upon the amount of driving he does. Now have to get the seat covers done. Any idea about any good shops in Indiranagar to get it done?

Hey, the 3050 has no USB. Or does it?

You mentioned USB as a must, did'nt you?
